Abstract: Disclosed herein is a post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic composition which is a reaction product of (a) a salt of a sulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic composition, wherein the alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound is derived from alkylation of a hydroxyaromatic compound with one or more olefins comprising C9 to C18 oligomers of monomers selected from propylene, butylene or mixtures thereof, (b) a source of an aldehyde and (c) a primary and/or secondary monoamine compound having at least one active hydrogen. The post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkylhydroxyaromatic composition disclosed herein has a reduced content of unsulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound and its unsulfurized metal salt as compared to the content, by combined mass, of the unsulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound and its unsulfurized metal salt present in the non-post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic composition.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an isomerized alpha olefin sulfonate and a method of making the same wherein the isomerized alpha olefin sulfonate is derived from sulfonating an isomerized alpha olefin with sulfur trioxide in the presence of air thereby producing an isomerized alpha olefin sulfonic acid, wherein the isomerized alpha olefin is derived from the isomerization of C12-C20 normal alpha olefins; and neutralizing the isomerized alpha olefin sulfonic acid with a source of an alkali metal or ammonium or substituted ammonium ion.

Abstract: Polymer compositions for use as viscosity modifiers comprising at least two ethylene-based copolymer components are provided. The polymer composition comprises (a) a first ethylene-?-olefin copolymer and (b) a second ethylene-?-olefin copolymer. The present disclosure is also directed to lubricant compositions comprising a lubricating basestock and a polymer composition of the present disclosure and is further directed to reducing gelation in the lubricant compositions.
