Abstract: A oral care composition includes: (a) a hydrophilic film-forming polymer; and (b) a hydrophobic carrier, wherein the hydrophilic film-forming polymer is a film-forming polymer effective to occlude dentinal tubules and the oral care composition contains 0-10 wt. % water. The hydrophilic film-forming polymer is preferably GANTREZ S. The hydrophobic carrier is preferably a vegetable oil. A method of cleaning teeth includes applying to the teeth the oral care composition such that the hydrophilic film-forming polymer occludes dentinal tubules. A toothbrush includes: a handle; a head mounted to the handle, the head comprising an outer surface and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending outwardly from the outer surface; and a gelatin capsule containing the oral care composition positioned on the head.

Abstract: This application relates to an aqueous, acidic, self-preserving, liquid cleaning composition, typically a dishwashing liquid, having a pH for the composition within the range of 2.5 to 5 initially and upon dilution, which composition comprises a plurality of surfactants, the surfactants including surfactant active components comprising from greater than 39% to up to 55% by weight, based on the weight of the composition, wherein the composition has a viscosity of from 80 to 3000 mPas as measured at 25° C., and the composition is dilutable with water to form a non-gelling diluted composition having up to five times the volume of the undiluted composition and a viscosity within the range of 80 to 3000 mPas as measured at 25° C. at any dilution up to the five times dilution.
Abstract: A liquid cleansing composition comprising water in an amount sufficient to form a liquid composition, a fatty acid soap, a structuring agent, and talc. The cleansing composition has a creamy texture and provides good skinfeel properties.
Abstract: A multi-chambered container for storing and dispensing flowable substances and method for using the same. The container includes a plurality of individual chambers each containing a flowable substance. Each chamber is in fluid communication with a discharge valve assembly. The valve assembly selectively dispenses a single one of the flowable substances in response to one of the chambers being pressed or squeezed by a user without simultaneously dispensing the remaining substances. In preferred embodiments, the container includes at least two, and more preferably three or more chambers.

Abstract: An oral care implement with a handle includes a head with a releasable material (e.g., an oral medicament) and a tissue cleaner for cleaning the soft tissues and removing odor-causing bacteria from the mouth. In one arrangement, the releasable material is disposed on the surface of the tissue cleaner. In one arrangement, the releasable material is disposed behind the tissue cleaner. In one arrangement, the releasable material is incorporated in the composition of the tissue cleaner.
Abstract: An oral care implement having a multi-component handle, and method of manufacturing the same. The invention can be an oral care implement having a handle which comprises at least four components constructed of different materials. The invention may also be an oral care implement having a handle comprising a core structure constructed of a first rigid material and an elongated handle body constructed of a second rigid material, the core structure disposed within a through slot of the elongated handle body; and a grip cover constructed of a resilient material that covers a front surface, a rear surface and a proximal end surface of the elongated handle body. The grip cover may be used to conceal through-holes in the elongated handle body that result from supporting the core structure during the injection molding of the elongated handle body about the core structure.

Abstract: A dispenser for storing and dispensing a substance, includes: (a) an inner layer including an inner layer polymer; (b) outer layer; (c) a metal foil barrier layer between the inner layer and the outer layer; (d) a compartment for storing the substance; and (e) a resealable opening, wherein the outer layer includes an outer layer polymer and a block copolymer effective to provide the outer layer with an impact resistance at least 5% greater than a reference structure. The inner layer polymer is preferably LDPE, the outer layer polymer is preferably a blend of LDPE, HDPE and block copolymer or alternatively the outer layer is subdivided into layers of LDPE, HDPE and block-copolymer, in this order. The block copolymer is preferably an SBS block copolymer having thermoplastic elastomer properties. The dispenser is particularly well-suited for dispensing toothpaste.
Abstract: A composition comprising a) a surfactant comprising an anionic surfactant; b) at least 8 weight % of the composition of a C12-18 fatty alcohol, and c) water. A cleansing method includes applying the composition to skin or hair and washing, and optionally rinsing with water.

Abstract: A toothpowder oral care composition of fluoride ion source particulate (such as stannous fluoride particulate) dispersed in an oral calcium carbonate abrasive particulate bed is achieved with careful adjustment of the particle sizes of both the fluorinated particulate and the abrasive particulate to achieve a bed of toothpowder where neither the fluorinated particulate or the abrasive particulate will settle to create a localized concentration of the fluoride significantly different from the average concentration of the fluoride throughout the bed.
Abstract: The present invention is directed, in certain embodiments, to compositions useful for the removal of grease, lime scale, soap scum, feces, rust or other soils from surfaces such as those found in bathrooms, toilets and kitchens. Methods of removing soils and preventing soil adhesion are also contemplated.
