Abstract: Described herein are compositions for topical use comprising an antibacterially effective concentration of a gallate or gallamide compound which is a polysubstituted cycloalkyl or heterocycloalkyl wherein the substituents are selected from hydroxy, hydroxymethyl, fluoro, chloro, amino, nitro, or a moiety of formula -X-(CO)-(3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl), wherein X is selected from O and NH, provided that the substituents comprise at least two moieties of formula -X-(CO)-(3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl) attached to adjacent carbons in free or in orally or topically acceptable salt form, as well as methods of making and using the same.

Abstract: An oral care instrument includes at least one oral care agent. In one embodiment, the oral care agent can be provided on one or more surfaces of the oral care instrument or included within cavities within the head or in one or more surfaces of a head. In other embodiment, the oral care agent can be provided in or on a thin slab subsequently bonded onto a surface, or applied as a stable coating. The oral care instrument can also be provided with a wear indicator. The oral care agents can be released during one use, during multiple uses, or throughout the life of the instrument. Water, oral secretions and/or chemicals within the mouth can activate the oral care agents.

The oral care implement can include a plurality of oral care material stores (232), which can include different dentifrices. A store of oral care material (232) can be located within an arrangement of the tooth cleaning elements (226) and can extend through the head (212) to an arrangement of soft tissue cleaning elements (226). The toothbrush (210) can be small in size and lightweight so as to be readily portable for use away from the home.

Abstract: An oral care toothbrush includes a head mounted to one end of the handle containing a plurality of oral care elements. An oral care accessory is mounted to the opposite end of the handle. An oral care material dispenser is mounted in the head within the cleaning field defined by the oral care elements. The toothbrush is preferably made of small size and of lightweight so as to be readily portable for use away from the home.

Abstract: A consumer product comprises a container for packaging a composition having a scent. A removable cap is fitted to the container, with the cap and the container defining a cavity therebetween. The cap has an orifice, for communicating between the cavity and an exterior of the cap, and a manually deformable part which is adapted to be displaceable thereby to displace air from an internal location within the cavity outwardly through the orifice.
