Abstract: A filter apparatus includes a filter, such as a cartridge, positioned within a housing. The filter apparatus has multiple ports and valves, so as to allow a user to easily switch between a filtration mode of filtering fluids and a maintenance mode of cleaning the filter. The filter can have a filter substrate in a housing and after filtrate builds up on the substrate, the substrate can be cleaned by directing a spray of fluid, such as from a ring of nozzles at the top of the housing, onto the substrate. A maintenance port can be provided to drain the debris washed from the substrate. The filter can switch between a backwash mode and a filtration mode.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method includes: wirelessly transmitting power to a receiving coil from a transmitting coil, where the receiving coil is in a wireless power transmission space of the transmitting coil; measuring an output of a sensor during a first time to generate a first measurement; measuring the output of the sensor during a second time to generate a second measurement, the second time being after the first time; and when a magnitude of a difference between the first measurement and the second measurement is higher than a predetermined threshold, stopping wirelessly transmitting power to the receiving coil with the transmitting coil.

Abstract: Methods and a system allow consumers of healthcare to select an independent insurance agent from a set of independent insurance agents and to request offers for health insurance policies from the independent insurance agents. The methods and systems obviate lead generating firms by allowing the consumer to select their independent insurance agent based on a criterion chosen by the consumer. The consumer sends personal contact information and healthcare information (i.e., a medical history) to the selected independent agent. The consumer does not send information to the system. Accordingly, unselected agents cannot contact the consumer. Because the insurance agent is an independent insurance agent, offers for health insurance can include policies from different underwriters. The methods and system provide for the consumer being added to do not call lists by default. The methods and system collect consumer protection compliance information from the consumer.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method includes: wirelessly transmitting power using a transmitter LC tank; wirelessly receiving power from the transmitter LC tank using a receiver LC tank; interrupting wirelessly transmitting power for a slot period; during the slot period, shorting the receiver LC tank; during the slot period and after shorting the receiver LC tank, measuring a transmitter signal associated with the transmitter LC tank; determining a power loss associated with the wirelessly transmitting power based on the measured transmitter signal; and detecting a metallic object based on the determined power loss.

Abstract: An electronic device, a wireless charger and a wireless charging system are disclosed. In an embodiment an electronic device includes a metal housing including electronic components of the electronic device, a recess in the metal housing, a receiver coil configured to receive wireless power, the receiver coil located in the recess outside of the metal housing and a holding structure for the receiver coil, wherein the holding structure comprises a material with a high magnetic permeability, and wherein the receiver coil is electrically connected to the electronic components inside the metal housing.

Abstract: An apparatus includes an enclosure, a first ferrite core disposed inside the enclosure, a wireless power receiver that includes a first receiving coil wrapped around the first ferrite core between the first ferrite core and the enclosure, and an alignment mark configured to be aligned with a center of a transmitting coil of a wireless power transmitter, wherein the alignment mark is not aligned with a center of the first receiving coil.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting predetermined events occurring during delivery of an ordered product to a delivery address is provided. Upon receipt of a customer order, delivery of the ordered product is assigned to a delivery driver/vehicle which includes a stand-alone communication device disposed in the delivery vehicle. As the delivery trip begins, various position and acceleration information is collected by the communication device, processed to determine whether a predetermined driving event has occurred, and stored. This information is transmitted periodically to a processing system for eventual communication to a home location store associated with the delivery order. Additional processing of the delivery trip data may occur to enable a review of the delivery trip and any detected events along the delivery path.

Abstract: A method for wirelessly providing power to a LED includes: receiving an AC input voltage having a first frequency via a cable; generating a first rectified voltage at a first node from the AC input voltage, the first node coupled to a first filtering non-electrolytic capacitor; powering a driver with the first rectified voltage; wirelessly transmitting power by driving a first resonant tank with the driver with a driving voltage at a second frequency higher than the first frequency, the driving voltage having a sinusoidal envelope at the first frequency and approximating a square-wave at the second frequency; receiving the wirelessly transmitted power with a second resonant tank; generating a second rectified voltage at second node from a voltage across the second resonant tank, the second node coupled to a second filtering capacitor; generating a DC voltage from the second rectified voltage; and powering the LED with the DC voltage.

Nut restrainers may have an interior profile including a circular profile section and a regular hexagonal profile section, a nut inserted into the nut restrainer may have lateral freedom of movement, and the nut restrainer may have a top plane with one or more centering protrusions. A centering tool for positioning a nut restrainer may have a non-circular head section, a cylindrical positioning section, a threaded section, and a cylindrical restrainer positioning section; a method of positioning a nut restrainer coaxial with a bolt hole using the centering tool.

The system includes a processor that executes machine instructions to perform operations. The operations comprise: receiving sensor data from a sensor device located in a building; converting the sensor data from a raw state to a physical measurement; and activating an abatement device situated in the building as a function of the physical measurement.

Abstract: A beverage production system, comprising a cup dispensing station configured to dispense cups, a beverage dispensing station configured to dispense a beverage, and a turntable assembly. The turntable assembly comprising a central axis, an inner turntable including a first row of cup receptacles, and an outer turntable including a second row of cup receptacles. The outer turntable is disposed circumferentially about the inner turntable, and the outer turntable is configured to rotate about the central axis to align the cup receptacles of the second row with the cup dispensing station and the beverage dispensing station. The turntable assembly is configured to align an opening in a cup receptacle in the second row with an opening in a cup receptacle in the first row. A slide assembly includes an arm configured to slide a cup positioned in the cup receptacle in the second row into the aligned opening of the cup receptacle in the first row.

Abstract: A water treatment insert for a pool skimmer system includes a chemical treatment portion separated from a mechanical filtration portion. The treatment device includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper section can include a vertical wall or walls, which should be substantially watertight so that substantially all the water entering the pool skimmer flows through the upper portion, and then into the lower section. The entire device is preferably received in the filter basket receiving section of a conventional pool skimmer, in place of the conventional filter basket. One of the upper and lower sections provides mechanical filtration and the other chemical treatment, to enhance the water treatment function of the skimmer.

The system also includes a server that is communicatively coupled to the air quality monitor, wherein the server is configured to generate a unique environmental fingerprint associated with the residential house.

Abstract: Methods and systems for governing execution of a geography dependent computer process are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a target location comprising a geographic identifier. The method also includes accessing a data store comprising a plurality of maps. Each map of the plurality of maps includes a plurality of geometric shapes and each geometric shape is associated with an execution rule. The method also includes determining which geometric shape of the plurality of geometric shapes the geographic identifier is bounded within for at least two maps of the plurality of maps. The method further includes generating an aggregate rule set based on each execution rule associated with each geometric shape determined to bound the geographic identifier. The method further includes applying the aggregate rule set. Machine-readable media are also provided.
