Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments of the invention, nut restrainers and methods of use are presented, particularly as they apply to high-strength bolted connections for steel structures. Nut restrainers may define a cavity that accepts insertion of a nut, and may include deformable or removable centering elements that allow the nut to move laterally to accept a bolt that is inserted non-concentrically with the nut restrainer, and may comprise a mobile central portion and a rigid outer portion; A method of positioning a nut restrainer concentric with a bolt hole accurate to within the radial tolerance of the bolt hole.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are presented herein for providing lower level physical-layer gateway functionalities and upper-level application functionalities; a system designed with flexible configurations in order to support a wide range of connected applications. The system includes a processor that executes machine instructions to perform operations. The operations comprise: receiving sensor data from a sensor device located in a building; converting the sensor data from a raw state to a physical measurement; and activating an abatement device situated in the building as a function of the physical measurement.

Abstract: A system, device and medium for providing internet to user devices are described. The system is designed to provide high speed internet using cellular networks. The system comprises exterior unit which is placed in open environment and router unit which is placed in proximity to the user devices. The exterior unit comprises the detachable cellular modem and antenna and modem housing arrangement. The detachable cellular modem includes SIM slot unit to accommodate SIMS, and connectors. The antenna and modem housing arrangement includes antenna arrangement to accommodate the antennas at slant polarization, and a modem holding housing to accommodate the detachable cellular modem. One may appreciate that the system is designed using detachable cellular modem, placed at outdoors along with antennas, to provision less complex and adaptable system for lossless transmission of signals to modem and efficient internet access to multiple user devices.

Such a connector component comprises a body, electrically conductive contact pins, and latching pins. The body includes opposing sides at which are located pinch tabs. The electrically conductive contact pins and the latching pins each includes a portion thereof also extending from the bottom of the body. The pinch tabs are configured to normally bias the latching pins in a first position where the latching pins are angled relative to a central axis of the connector component when the pinch tabs are not being pinched inwards towards one another. Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide a vision pipeline-based method of censusing a crowd that includes presenting content on an outdoor digital display or other content player (e.g., a loudspeaker) and capturing with a video camera or other image acquisition device frames or other time-wise succession of images of a scene in the field of view or otherwise in the vicinity of the display/player. First and second people detectors (both, for example, face detectors) are used to determine respective counts of persons in the scene. Estimated viewing statistics, generated with a detection pipeline that includes the first people detector and a tracker, include at least one of (i) a number of persons in the scene that viewed the content on the player, and (ii) for at least one of those persons, a duration during which he/she was in the scene and/or looking toward the player.

Abstract: The invention provides, in some respects, a digital data processing method of identifying a person of interest in a video stream. The method, which executes on a digital data processing system including one or more digital data processing devices in communications coupling with one another, includes detecting using a detector and without using a facial recognizer one or more faces in a video stream. It further includes using a tracker to associate, without using a facial recognizer, one or more of the detected faces with a same apparent individual, and scoring, again, without using a facial recognizer, each of the detected faces that are associated with the same apparent individual. The method further includes applying selected ones of the scored detected faces of the same apparent individual to a facial recognizer to identify a person of interest, where selection is based on scores of the detected faces.

Abstract: A filter apparatus includes a filter, such as a cartridge, positioned within a housing. The filter apparatus has multiple ports and valves, so as to allow a user to easily switch between a filtration mode of filtering fluids and a maintenance mode of cleaning the filter. The filter can have a filter substrate in a housing and after filtrate builds up on the substrate, the substrate can be cleaned by directing a spray of fluid, such as from a ring of nozzles at the top of the housing, onto the substrate. A maintenance port can be provided to drain the debris washed from the substrate. The filter can switch between a backwash mode and a filtration mode.

Abstract: A water treatment insert for a pool skimmer system includes a chemical treatment portion separated from a mechanical filtration portion. The treatment device includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper section can include a vertical wall or walls, which should be substantially watertight so that substantially all the water entering the pool skimmer flows through the upper portion, and then into the lower section. The entire device is preferably received in the filter basket receiving section of a conventional pool skimmer, in place of the conventional filter basket. One of the upper and lower sections provides mechanical filtration and the other chemical treatment, to enhance the water treatment function of the skimmer.
