  • Publication number: 20170209491
Abstract: Process for obtaining fluoride-doped citrate-coated amorphous calcium phosphate nanoparticles. This material has applications in biomedicine due to its biodegradability and bioactivity; it also promotes cell adhesion and osteogeneration. In dentistry, it may be used in toothpastes, mouthwashes, chewing gums, gels and fluoride varnishes as a remineralising agent of dentine and enamel. It is based on two solutions formed by calcium chloride and sodium citrate on the one hand, and by sodium monohydrogenophosphate and sodium carbonate with a fluoride compound on the other, which are mixed at room temperature. The process is eco-efficient and eco-friendly, as it does not leave any acid residue; it consists of a single stage and it is the first time that an amorphous calcium phosphate coated with citrate and doped with fluoride, which enhances its remineralising action, is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20170196224
Abstract: New Helicoverpa armigera single nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearSNPV) genotypes, method of producing same and use as a biological control agent Two new Helicoverpa armigera single nucleopolyhedrovirus genotypes, HearSNPV, HearSNPV-SP1B and HearSNPV-LB6, each originating from mixtures of genotypes obtained from different locations and crops, are described. Each exhibits specific insecticidal activity against H. armigera larvae comparable to that of commonly used commercial insecticides. Further, mixing the two genotypes, especially in the ratio of 1:1, within co-occluded virions of the mixed genotypes, is capable of controlling H. armigera infestations of tomato crops and is as efficacious as commonly used chemical and biological insecticides. Their use as bioinsecticides is safe for vertebrates, in that they specifically target arthropods. In addition, they are easy to produce and good yields can be obtained by orally inoculating H. armigera larvae with HearSNPV occlusion bodies.

  • Patent number: 9693679
Abstract: The invention relates to a miniature simultaneous vision simulator instrument with various image-forming channels, each one of which projects, onto the retina of the same eye, a component image with a different degree of defocusing of the same observed object, such that the superposition of all of the component images forms a final simultaneous vision image on the retina of the eye. The instrument has at least one adjustable variable focus lens that, as the focus is changed, modifies the vergence of the light beam passing through said adjustable lens. Furthermore, one of the image-forming channels passes through the adjustable variable focus lens. The instrument can operate in the modality of optical channels that are physically differentiated in the modality of temporal channel multiplexing.
