Abstract: A method for training an artificial intelligence module for an advanced driver assistance system for obtaining a depth model of a scene uses data of a camera image and a depth image of a LIDAR sensor as input, and is trained for outputting the depth model of the scene. The depth model has a higher resolution than the depth image of the LIDAR sensor. The method of training the artificial intelligence module includes acquiring depth measurement data of the scene, which are obtained by combining images of a plurality of other LIDAR sensors, and which are used as a ground truth for the depth model of the scene.

Abstract: Data compression is continuously optimized using frequency-based dictionary lookup tables for communication between a transmitter in a vehicle and a receiver. In a transmitter, first and second frequency-based dictionary lookup tables are provided. The transmitter receives a data block and compresses it using the first table. Using the data block, the second table is updated and a difference between a compression efficiency of the first table and a compression efficiency of the second table for the data block is calculated. The compressed data block is transmitted to the receiver. When the difference is more than a pre-defined threshold, the content of the first table is replaced with the content of the updated second table in the transmitter. The content of the updated second table is then also transmitted to the receiver.
Abstract: A regulating device for regulating the steering angle of a vehicle includes a first controller unit having at least one integrating component and configured to receive a control difference between first steering angle information, which is deduced from nominal steering angle information, and an actual steering angle. The first controller unit provides actuation information for a motor operating the steering. A compensation control circuit superposed on the first controller unit is provided. The compensation control circuit has a feedback path receives actuation information of the motor, the output torque of the motor, and/or information dependent on the output torque of the motor as the input variable and, based on the input variable, provides steering angle compensation information.

Abstract: Subjects of the present disclosure are methods for training deep learning models, methods for predicting a map matching parameter, methods for updating a digital road map, and a computer program making it possible to implement the methods and devices for updating a digital road map. The general principle is based on the use of machine learning. Accordingly, a statistical deep learning model is trained according to a “supervised” machine learning scheme. Thereafter, the pretrained statistical deep learning model is used to predict a map matching parameter on the basis of a measurement of geographic coordinates and of an identifier of the position sensor that has performed the measurement of geographic coordinates. Finally, the map matching parameter can be used to update a digital road map.

Abstract: A method for adapting a triggering algorithm of a personal restraint device of a vehicle on the basis of a detected vehicle interior state of the vehicle. The method comprises detecting of key points of a vehicle occupant by an optical sensor device, ascertaining a vehicle occupant posture of the vehicle occupant based on the connection of the detected key points to a skeleton-like representation of body parts of the vehicle occupant, wherein the skeleton-like representation reflects the relative position and orientation of individual body parts of the vehicle occupant, predicting a future vehicle occupant posture of the vehicle occupant based on a predicted future position of at least one of the key points, and modifying the triggering algorithm of the personal restraint device based on the predicted future posture of the vehicle occupant. Abstract: A device for securing an optical device on a windshield of a vehicle is described. The device comprises a box-shaped bracket in which a holder for the optical device is mounted so as to be pivotable and fixable. It is thereby possible to set various angular positions of the holder relative to the bracket, taking into account different curvatures of the respective windshield. Abstract: A cleaning apparatus, optimized for cleaning optical and optoelectronic sensor devices in motor vehicles, comprising a housing, and a reciprocating piston movable in a pressure-controlled manner in the housing and movable from a retracted position into a deployed position along an actuation axis is disclosed. The reciprocating piston has an inner channel to transport a cleaning fluid through the reciprocating piston to a spray nozzle. A miniaturized, easily and inexpensively producible cleaning apparatus which makes possible exact and precise orientation of the cleaning jet, quick operational readiness, reduced tendency for follow-up flow of the cleaning fluid, and improved adaptability to different installation positions, is also disclosed. In an embodiment at least the cleaning apparatus has at least one guide to prevent rotation of the reciprocating piston about the actuation axis during its entire stroke, the at least one guide means arranged at least regionally in the inner channel.
