Abstract: A conveyor belt of elastomeric material, especially natural and synthetic rubber material, with thread-shaped strength members extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt and being located in parallel spaced relationship to each other while being embedded in the elastomeric material of the belt, the strength members being in the form of wires united to each other by a single twist.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for making toothed belts of rubber or rubber-like elastic synthetic materials with an enveloping fabric covering, the belt teeth, according to which an enveloping fabric strip is folded into successive folds corresponding to the belt teeth to be formed, and the cavities defining folded portions on the inside of said fabric strip are filled with elastomeric material of the type of which the belt teeth are to be made, whereupon layers of elastomeric material and straight members making up the remainder of the belt to be made are placed upon each other to build up the belt, whereafter the thus obtained assembly is vulcanized.
Abstract: A pressure pad of rubber or rubber like synthetic material with a marginal rim portion connected to the remaining portion of the pad by a cross sectionally arc-shaped portion and adapted sealingly to engage a rigid holding element connectable to a press, said cross sectionally arc-shaped portion being provided with a slightly reduced wall section, e.g. in the form of a groove.
Abstract: A tire building machine in which a tire building drum of variable diameter is connected to a rotatable driving shaft for rotation therewith while a plurality of bead applying means respectively arranged at opposite end faces includes annular sections surrounding the rotatable shaft in radially spaced relationship thereto. The machine furthermore comprises guiding means separate from the rotatable driving shaft and slidably engaged by the bead applying means which are adjustable on the guiding means in planes perpendicular to the driving shaft in two directions perpendicular to each other.
Abstract: A connection for the ends of strength carriers in conveyor belts of synthetic material or rubber. The ends of the strength carriers in the form of strands or cables are inserted or clamped into casings or sleeves which are connected to each other in pairs in the manner of a hinge with a sleeve section containing the end of a cable.
Abstract: An arrangement for securing the beads of a pneumatic tire in the rim therefor, according to which an annular inflatable body is located in the interior of the beaded pneumatic tire which inflatable body in non-inflated or in only slightly inflated condition has an inner diameter greater than the diameter defined by the seating surfaces of the tire. The annular inflatable body has two reinforcing layers respectively including thread-shaped elements inclined in a left hand and right hand way so as to cross each other. The arrangement is such that in non-inflated condition of the inflatable body the thread-shaped elements form with the circumferential direction of the tire an angle of from approximately 23.degree. to 32.degree..
