  • Patent number: 9707408
Abstract: In embodiments, an emergency external defibrillator system is configured for use by a local rescuer in cooperation with a remote rescuer to assist a patient. The external defibrillator system includes a sensor to generate a patient value that represents a physiological parameter of the patient. The system also includes a communication module to transmit the patient value to another device of a remote rescuer, and to receive in response an incoming message that contains an encoded discharge instruction. The system also includes a processor that can decode the discharge instruction, and cause the system to defibrillate or pace the patient. An advantage is that therapy can be initiated remotely from the remote rescuer, who may be better trained, more confident, and less under the stress of the moment than the local rescuer.

  • Patent number: 9702583
Abstract: A self-contained portable heating system to heat a stored liquid in a storage tank to a desired temperature is provided. The system can comprise operatively connected components such as a generator to power a burner that can transfer energy from a combustion product, from for example, a fuel supplied by an attached fuel tank, to a heat transfer fluid through the use of a boiler. The heat transfer fluid can transfer heat from the boiler to a heat exchanger which can then transfer heat to the stored liquid in the tank. The tank can also comprise a circulating pump that can circulate the heat transfer fluid and an expansion tank that can receive the heat transfer fluid when it expands as a result of being heated. In some embodiments, the heating components can be supplied separately from storage tank so that they can be retrofit onto an existing tank.

  • Patent number: 9699841
Abstract: A full color LED light for aircraft interiors is described, comprising a housing containing at least three differently colored groups of light emitting diodes, a controller for the groups of light emitting diodes and an alternating current power source. The controller distributes the alternating current to LED groups, providing a desired intensity of each differently colored group, producing a desired blended output color. At least one switching circuit receives input current from the power source, via the controller, and directs current to LED subgroups such that a near optimal voltage drop is maintained, given the varied voltage drops of the LED subgroups, regardless of the input voltage, in light of the voltage rating of the LEDs. Embodiments provide for measurement or estimation of current profiles, thermal profiles, and series resistance, allowing accurate measurement of lumen depreciation over time. Additional embodiments include a feedback circuit to temper input power fluctuations.
