Abstract: A method for verifying the integrity of platform software of an electronic device is provided, the method comprising accessing a module of said platform software, obtaining a signature (S), obtaining a verification key (VK), said verification key (VK) corresponding to a signing key (SK), verifying if said signature (S) was derived by signing said platform software module with said signing key (SK), by using said verification key (VK), and establishing a positive verification of said platform software module if said verification is successful. The invention also provides a method for providing a platform software module to perform the aforementioned method, and a device on which the aforementioned method can be performed.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for delivering media content. The system includes at least one recipient that may be associated with at least one recipient rule. The system also includes a sending entity capable of transmitting a multimedia message addressed to the recipients. The sending entity can also specify delivery rules in the message. In this regard, the multimedia message includes media content. The system further includes a network entity capable of receiving the multimedia message and identifying any recipient rules, sending entity rules and/or network rules associated with the multimedia message. The network entity can then deliver the media content to the recipients based upon respective rules. The network entity can also be capable of processing the media content based upon the rules before delivering the media content, such as by transcoding or truncating at least a portion of the media content prior to delivery.

Abstract: A method includes, at a user equipment, combining a message requesting the radio resource connection and a message requesting at least one service into a single message. The single message is transmitted from the user equipment to a network element in a wireless network. Another method includes receiving, from a user equipment, a single message including both a message requesting a radio resource connection and a message requesting at least one service. In response to the message requesting radio resource connection, performing radio resource control connection establishment for the user equipment in order to establish the radio resource control connection between the user equipment and at least one of a plurality of network elements of a wireless network.

Abstract: A system for managing operation of a “whiteboard” supported by one or more devices. A whiteboard may comprise a shared storage area allocated amongst the memories of one or more devices enabled for wireless communication. The whiteboard may be accessed by various programs, or “nodes,” resident on the devices. In at least one scenario, some nodes may provide information to a whiteboard section of one device for use by nodes that may exist on other devices. This information may be accessible via wireless communication The present invention may evaluate the requirements of the various active nodes in view of the status of the plurality of devices in order to both optimize whiteboard operation while conserving device resources.

Abstract: A remote control framework enables a plurality of target devices to be controlled by a plurality of remote control devices irrespective of bearer types. In a preferred embodiment any target device may also act as a control device and any control device may also act as a target device. The framework also enables any application running on any target device to be controlled by any controller device.

Abstract: A system and method for storing and retrieving preconfigured, hidden SyncML server profiles on a client is described. Conventionally, users of client devices need to manually configure the devices to allow for synchronization with new servers via SyncML. Preconfigured SyncML profiles allow a client to synchronize with a SyncML server without having to generate a new SyncML profile, thereby improving user experience. The preconfigured SyncML profiles may be hidden from a user or displayable to a user.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing memory footprint reduction for classes of an application programming interface includes a comparing element and a set selection element. The comparing element may be configured to receive a reference class file and one or more modified class files for each of a plurality of classes and to compare a size of each of the one or more modified class files and the reference class file. The set selection element may be in communication with the comparing element. The set selection element may be configured to select one of the one or more modified class files or the reference class file based at least in part on the size of each of the one or more modified class files and the reference class file as a selected file for each corresponding one of the classes and to form a class set comprising the selected file for each corresponding one of the classes.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling a mobile terminal having a first wireless interface for cellular communication in a mobile telecommunications network and a second wireless interface for non-cellular wireless communication, such as wireless local area network (WLAN) communication, in at least one frequency band. In the mobile terminal, the following steps are performed. Information is received from the mobile telecommunications network, and the information is processed. Then, based on an outcome of the processing of the information, the second wireless interface is disabled from wireless communication in at least one frequency band.

Abstract: An approach is provided for enabling access to content in a network service. Location information is received, at a server, relating to a first remote apparatus and another remote apparatus. The received location information is utilized to determine that the first remote apparatus and the another remote apparatus are proximal to each other. Access rights are updated within a network service to enable the user of the another remote apparatus to access content associated with the user of the first remote apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing motion estimation for video encoding includes a selection element and a processing element. The selection element is configured to select a subset including less than all of candidate pixel locations from among a plurality of candidate pixel locations used for motion vector determination based on a relationship between a best candidate pixel location of a first level of accuracy and a best candidate pixel location of a second level of accuracy. The processing element is configured to process an input video sequence to determine a motion vector at the first level of accuracy, to refine the motion vector at the second level of accuracy, and to determine the motion vector at a third level of accuracy using only the subset of candidate pixel locations.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to defining hierarchical digital broadcast transport streams as separate cells, which reduces the signaling in OSI layer 1, and removing use of sub-cells so that the coverage area of a transposer may be treated as a cell. In accordance with at least one embodiment, each hierarchical DVB-H stream (i.e., the HP stream and the LP stream) has its own separate dedicated “current signal” frame. This allows the streams to be independent of each other (even to belong to different networks). Furthermore, in accordance with the hierarchical signal arrangement, a cell can be uniquely identified by its network_id and cell_id. In accordance with at least one embodiment, frequency may be used as an additional identifier thereby allowing a first cell to be transposed to a sub-cell.

The method further includes communicating a HTTP response from the relay to the peer device and establishing a communication channel between the peer device and the another peer device via the relay. The communication channel permits the peer device and the another peer device to send and receive data.

Abstract: A method, device, system, and a computer program product for association of memory to folder information are disclosed. The electronic device includes one or more memory elements and a sending module. Each of the memory elements is adapted to store folders therein, and the sending module is adapted to send a capability object and a folder-listing object to a receiving module. The capability object includes memory information corresponding to the one or more memory elements, and the folder-listing object includes folder information corresponding to a folder contained in one of the memory elements. The folder information includes an attribute identifying the one memory element containing the folder.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, computer program instructions and apparatus for performing random access procedures in a wireless communication system. A method includes receiving at a network access node, in different time and frequency resources that are allocated for preamble transmission, and in different ones of a plurality of component carriers, a plurality of random access requests from individual ones of a plurality of user equipments; and transmitting a corresponding plurality of random access responses in a time and frequency resource of a single component carrier.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of authenticating a user equipment in a communications network. The method involves sending a message from a network entity to the user equipment. This message includes a set of options for an authentication procedure for authenticating an internet protocol communication over a first interface between the user equipment and the network entity; said options including a “shared key”-based authentication procedure. The method also involves selecting an option from the set. In the event that the “shared-key”-based authentication procedure is selected, a shared secret from a security key established in a generic bootstrapping architecture (GBA) is generated over a second interface between the user equipment and a bootstrapping service function. The shared secret is then used to compute and verify authentication payloads in the key-based authentication procedure for the communication over the first interface.

Abstract: A method of relocating the header compression context in a packet network which transmits packets having compressed headers. A connection is established between a mobile terminal and a first network entity and context information used with compression and decompression of the headers of the packets is stored at the mobile terminal and the first network entity. The context information updating is stopped in the mobile terminal and in the first network entity and after that, a snapshot of the compression and decompression context information is taken and stored in the first network entity. The connection between the first network entity and the mobile terminal is changed to a connection between the mobile terminal and a second network entity. The context information snapshot stored by the first network entity is transferred to the second network entity to be stored therein as the context information of the second network entity.
