Abstract: A device includes a non-volatile memory configured to store software to facilitate normal functions of the device, a first processing section including a data processor configured to execute the software when the device is in a normal mode, and load the software into a working memory in response to a trigger, and a second processing section coupled to a clock for maintaining a time, the second processing section configured to handle background processes when the device is in a low-power mode and initiate the trigger in response to the time of the clock preceding a user-set time by a preset advance interval, the pre-set advance interval taking into account a length of time to load the software into the working memory, wherein the working memory includes a volatile memory configured to store the software, and wherein in the low-power mode, the volatile memory receives insufficient power to store the software.

Abstract: A method includes generating a first coded data stream and a second coded data stream both representing the same content, the first coded data stream and the second coded data stream being independently decodable from each other, transmitting portions of the first coded data stream in first and second time-sliced bursts, and transmitting a portion of the second coded data stream in a third time-sliced burst, where the transmission of the portions of the first and second coded data streams do not overlap with each other, and occur subsequently to each other in transmission order and substantially without delay between transmission of data.

Abstract: A method includes sending a message from a first cognitive radio apparatus to at least one second cognitive radio apparatus, the message being sent over a first communication channel and containing an advertisement of at least one second communication channel for use in sending data from the first cognitive radio apparatus to the at least one second cognitive radio apparatus. The method further includes receiving a reply from the at least one second cognitive radio apparatus over the first communication channel, where the reply contains one of an acceptance of one of the at least one second communication channels, a rejection of the at least one second communication channel and an advertisement of at least one third communication channel, or a rejection of the at least one second communication channel without an advertisement of at least one third communication channel.

Abstract: Electronic device with a display screen and a navigational input device places information items in a string along a path on the display screen. The user can move the string of information items along the path at a variable speed by using the navigational input means. The shape of the path is changed in relation to the speed at which the string of information items is moved along the path. At low speeds the path is substantially rectangular and follows the outline of the rectangular display screen. At higher speeds the path becomes more and more curved.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing text independent voice conversion may include a first voice conversion model and a second voice conversion model. The first voice conversion model may be trained with respect to conversion of training source speech to synthetic speech corresponding to the training source speech. The second voice conversion model may be trained with respect to conversion to training target speech from synthetic speech corresponding to the training target speech. An output of the first voice conversion model may be communicated to the second voice conversion model to process source speech input into the first voice conversion model into target speech corresponding to the source speech as the output of the second voice conversion model.

Abstract: A cradle for a mobile phone, comprising: a rear bearing surface; left and right side walls each connected to the rear bearing surface; a bottom portion also connected to the rear bearing surface and comprising a receiver formed therein; a connector for mechanically and electrically engaging a bottom connector of the mobile phone, the connector configured to mechanically engage the mobile phone to retain the mobile phone inside the cradle, and two guide rails formed respectively on the front side of the left and right side walls, and protruding laterally from the side walls. Abstract: A point of sale (POS) device may be configured to locate a payment system and transmit a payment authorization request from a remote location to a payment system, either directly, or via a payment system directory and/or a SSL Gateway. The invention also includes inserting third party account information into an encrypted portion of the payment request, so the payment request appears as a normal request to the issuing bank, but the third party account information may be used by the third party to bill the customer. The payment system directory is further configured to determine one or more payment processors to direct a payment authorization request, such that a single transaction may me allocated among multiple payment processors for authorization. Moreover, the payment system directory is able to format alternative payment methods into a format that is able to be processed over existing payment networks.

Abstract: A system and method for editing multimedia content. A server transmits multimedia content to a plurality of electronic devices. Each of the plurality of electronic devices enables a user to perform at least one action in relation to the multimedia content. A voting engine gathers information concerning the actions performed by users in relation to the multimedia content transmitted to the electronic devices. In response to the information gathered by the voting engine, the multimedia content is modified based upon predefined criteria. The modified multimedia content is subsequently provided to later users.

Abstract: Mobile telecommunications apparatus has a receiver for receiving concurrently a plurality of broadcast services containing image data content, and a display device with a display area operable to display an image corresponding to the content of at least one of the services in a first mode in which the content one of the channels is displayed for normal viewing, and a second mode in which the content of more than one of the services is displayed. Abstract: A method of reproducing at least two digital video sequences. The method includes multiplexing a first digital video sequence with a second digital video sequence, pictures of the second digital video sequence are included in advance in a video stream and are associated with timing information such that a receiver will not decode and reproduce the pictures of the second digital video sequence. The method includes composing the at least two digital video sequences into the video stream in correspondence with a result of the multiplexing and subsequently including a sequence of dummy timing pictures into the video stream. The dummy timing pictures are inter-predicted and are coded by omitting any prediction error data.

The modular system can include a rail system that is in contact with the wall surface and at least one sound reproduction module coupled to the rail system. The sound reproduction module can include a body that can be disposed on a stud-side of the wall surface, and the module can include an attachment feature that is slidably coupleable to the rail system. In an example, the sound reproduction module can include a loudspeaker assembly, an amplifier assembly, or other device. Multiple modules can be slidably coupled to the rail system, such as on different sides of a wall stud. A wired communication link can couple the multiple modules, such as across a wall surface-side of the wall stud.

Abstract: A system for providing automated computer security compromise as a service, contains a web server having a web front end running on the web server. The Web server has stored therein pentest definitions. A command and control component processes the pentest definitions, builds pentest task tickets and reporting task tickets, and monitors at least one penetration tester component and/or at least one report generator component. The command and control component interacts with a cloud computing environment to scale up or down the number of penetration tester components and the number of report generator components, and assigns task tickets to the penetration tester and report generator components. At least one penetration tester component runs penetration testing modules available inside the penetration testing framework as instructed by the pentest task tickets. At least one reporter generator component generates reports based on the reporting tasks tickets generated by the command and control service.

Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of systems and methods for oxidizing gases. In some embodiments, a reaction chamber is configured to receive a fuel gas and maintain the gas at a temperature within the reaction chamber that is above an autoignition temperature of the gas. The reaction chamber may also be configured to maintain a reaction temperature within the reaction chamber below a flameout temperature. In some embodiments, heat and product gases from the oxidation process can be used, for example, to drive a turbine, reciprocating engine, and injected back into the reaction chamber.

Abstract: In order to reduce the HS-SCCH overhead, a fixed time allocation approach could be used. In that case, the scheduling time of each VoIP user is semi-static and thus there is no need to transmit e.g. HS-SCCH toward the UE for the initial transmissions, if the UE knows when to receive data on the HS-DSCH and what transport format is used. There are at least two ways of implementing this: 1) HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH signalling to indicate parameters of a first transmission, with subsequent transmissions using the same parameters (and HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH always sent when changes needed), or 2) fixed allocation, RRC signalling used to allocate users and tell the default transport parameters.
