Abstract: An aspect of the invention relates to a method for editing a media record in a terminal device of a cellular network, by removing at least one portion of the original contents of the media record. The state of editing is shown on the display of the terminal device with a pointer arrangement. An aspect of the invention also relates to a cellular network terminal device in which the method is utilized. In the terminal device the media record editing is controlled with a program application.

Abstract: A computing device includes a display screen, where the computing device is configured to display on the screen a menu listing one or more applications, and to display on the screen an application summary that can be reached directly from the menu, where the application summary displays a limited list of data offered within the one or more applications, each of the data in the list being selectable to launch the respective application and enable the selected data to be seen within the respective application, and where the application summary is displayed while the one or more applications are in an un-launched state.

Abstract: A system, device, and method provide for the selection of a device to perform a service using context information for the device. The context information may be included in a request from a control point device to the device or may be included in a response from the device to the control point device. The context information provides additional information relative to the services provided by the device or relative to the device itself. For example, if the device is a camera, the camera may include for each photograph taken by the camera a date the photograph is taken, a time the photograph is taken, a location at which the photograph is taken, a subject matter of the photograph, a temperature at the photograph location, a photographer, etc in the context information. Additionally, the camera may include the current geographic location of the camera in the context information.

Abstract: A fuel oxidizer system is operated in a first operating mode. In the first operating mode, a mixture that includes fuel from a fuel source is compressed in a compressor of the fuel oxidizer system; the fuel of the compressed mixture is oxidized in a reaction chamber of the fuel oxidizer system; and the oxidized fuel is expanded to generate rotational kinetic energy. The fuel oxidizer system is operated in a second operating mode. In the second operating mode, fuel from the fuel source is directed to bypass the compressor, and the fuel that bypassed the compressor is oxidized in the reaction chamber.

Abstract: A method of encoding video frames to produce encoded video frames. Each encoded video frame is represented by a bit-stream, the bit-stream representative of an encoded video frame including high and low priority information. At least some of the low priority information is decoded from a bit-stream depending on decoding of at least some of the high priority information from the bit-stream. The method includes encoding a first video frame to form a first encoded video frame, the first encoded video frame being represented by a first bit-stream including high and low priority information representative of the first video frame. A first complete reference frame is formed by decoding the high and low priority information from the first bit-stream. A first virtual reference frame is formed using the high priority information decoded from the first bit-stream.

Abstract: A vertical stack of weights is disposed beneath a base member, and at least one selector rod is rotatably mounted on the base member and selectively rotated into engagement with a desired number of the vertically stacked weights. A horizontal stack of weights is disposed on opposite sides of a base member, and at least one selector rod is movably mounted on the base member and selectively moved into engagement with the desired number of horizontally stacked weights. Various combinations of these arrangements may be used to provide adjustable resistance to exercise on dumbbells and/or weight stack machines.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method may include supplying a gas to an upstream side of a core holder containing a core sample, accumulating permeated gas that has flowed through the core sample in a cavity coupled to a downstream side of the core holder, measuring an elapsed time during which the permeated gas accumulates in the cavity using a timer, measuring a pressure of the permeated gas using a pressure transducer coupled to the cavity, and determining a gas permeability of the core sample based at least in part on the pressure of the permeated gas and the elapsed time.

A composition comprises at least one genera of microalgae flocculated by Paenibacillus polymyxa strain, Strain 2, deposited under the Budapest Treaty as ATCC Accession No. PTA-12841. Methods of treating the soil comprise adding a composition of the present invention to soil.

Abstract: The invention relates to a protective frame for a mobile communication device having a power charging port. The protective frame has a retractable frame body, including a main frame body; a sliding element for reciprocatingly sliding along a direction with respect to the main frame body between a retracted protection position where the mobile communication device is fixedly framed by the retractable frame body and a stretched auxiliary power supply position; and a fastening element for fixing the sliding element with respect to the main frame body at the retracted protection position and the stretched auxiliary power supply position. The protective frame also includes an auxiliary battery adapted for being detachably installed in the retractable frame body and electrically connected to the power charging port of the mobile communication device, when the sliding element are fixed with respect to the main frame body at the stretched auxiliary power supply position.

Abstract: A method in a communication system is disclosed. In the method a procedure for setting up a communication link between a first user equipment and a second user equipment via a communications network is initiated. Information regarding at least two modes of communication that can be used for communication via the communication link is signalled between the first and second user equipment. An indicator regarding a mode to be used for the communication is also signalled between the first user equipment and the second user equipment. After the signalling steps, a procedure for setting the mode of communication in accordance with the indicator is initiated in at least in one of the user equipment. According to an alternative embodiment signalling for reserving a possibility for at least tow different communication modes occurs between elements of the communication system.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, controllers, systems, and terminals can, in certain embodiments, determine a number and properties of potential interferers in a plurality of available radio channels. The properties of the potential interferers can include modulation methods used by the potential interferers. A network element responsible for channel allocation can perform channel allocation for a terminal and select a modulation method for the allocated channel on the basis of the determination.

Abstract: Described herein are a method, apparatus and computer program to automatically inform a second party to a call that a first party to the call has or will disconnect due to a power source, such as a battery, of a terminal used by the first party becoming depleted. The second party can be informed by the generation and transmission of any suitable type of message, including a SMS message, a MMS message and a IMS message.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for spectrum synthesis for use in a flash unit, wherein the spectrum synthesis includes combining a plurality of emissive light sources in order to provide a combine output beam and producing the output spectrum for the combined output beam at least based on a reference spectrum. The reference spectrum can be obtained by sensing the spectrum of ambient light or selected from a plurality of stored spectra. The flash unit has at least two emissive light sources and each of the light sources can be adjusted relative to each other so that the outputs from the light sources can mimic a selected illumination scenario. It is possible to use a mixture of quantum dots to tailor each light source so that the combined spectra from different light sources can reasonably mimic a number of frequently used illumination scenario.

Abstract: A system and method for real time delivery of context based content from the cloud (internet) to mobile devices. The information in the cloud is available in the form of software-as-a-service is accessible from laptops and personal computers. The system obtains information from multiple sources in the “cloud,” correlates the information, determines a subset of information based on context, and pushes the information to at least one mobile device. An engine extracts a context based subset of information and correlates the context based subset of information based on the same context or a different context. A data push engine makes the information available in real time to a user by pushing the information to the at least one mobile device like a smartphone, tablet, and/or navigation system.

Abstract: The invention provides a finger-type peristaltic pump (2) having a body (4) and a housing (6). The body contains two or more finger-type valves (16) and a processor (22) configured to operate the valves according to a predetermined temporo-spatial pattern. The housing has a passageway (18) configured to receive a conduit. The housing has a first position in which a conduit in the passageway is positioned adjacent to the valve fingers, and a second position in which a conduit in the passageway is not adjacent to the valve fingers. The invention also provides a housing for use in the pump of the invention.

Abstract: A method for choosing channel coding and/or interleaving scheme is applied in a communication connection over a radio interface between a terminal and a base station of a cellular packet radio system. A certain decision-making device allocates channel coding and/or interleaving schemes to communication connections. A request message is communicated (to the decision-making device, indicating a certain set of Quality of Service parameters associated with a certain first communication connection. The set of Quality of Service parameters is mapped to a certain first channel coding and/or interleaving scheme as a part of the channel coding and/or interleaving scheme allocation made by the decision-making device. The first channel coding and/or interleaving scheme is communicated to the base station and the terminal for them to apply said first channel coding and/or interleaving scheme in the first communication connection.
