Patent number: 7317919Abstract: A communication session between a wireless communication device and one or more recipient communication devices is initiated in response to user input received at a separate computing device. The intended parties of the call are identified at the computing device in response to the user input. Once the intended parties have been identified, the computing device generates and transmits calling instructions to the wireless communication device to instruct the wireless communication device to call the one or more recipient communication devices. This allows a caller to utilize the functionality and resources available on a computer to initiate a call, while enabling the caller to utilize the functionality and resources available on the caller's wireless communication device to engage in and complete the call, without requiring the caller to communicate through the telephony applications of a computer.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2004Date of Patent: January 8, 2008Assignee: Core Mobility, Inc.Inventor: Michael P. Ruf

Patent number: 7317929Abstract: This invention makes it possible to deliver the voice portion of a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message to a recipient without requiring the recipient wireless stations to be MMS-enabled. A sender creates an MMS message, and sends it to the wireless station of the intended recipient. If the recipient wireless station is not MMS-enabled, the message is conveyed to a message server, where its voice content is extracted and stored in the interactive voice recognition (IVR) system. If the intended recipient wireless station supports the Short Message Service (SMS) protocol, an SMS notification alerting the recipient to the arrival of a new message is transmitted. In the event that the recipient wireless station is neither MMS- nor SMS-enabled, the recipient can be alerted of the receipt of a MMS message by Voicemail, Email, Instant Message, Page, or another medium able to effect delivery. The notification includes instructions for accessing the voice portion of the MMS message from the IVR system.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2004Date of Patent: January 8, 2008Assignee: Core Mobility, Inc.Inventors: Sani El-Fishawy, Konstantin Othmer

Publication number: 20070286099Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling user discovery of a service of a communication device. The services of a communications device are tracked or monitored for usage. A service that is unused or undiscovered is identified. Applications associated with the services are also tracked and monitored for usage. When an application is in use and there is an associated service that is unused, a discovery indicator is displayed on the communication device informing the user of the availability of the unused service. The user can select the discovery indicator to obtain additional information about the unused service.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2006Publication date: December 13, 2007Applicant: CORE MOBILITYInventors: Carl J. Patent number: 7277937Abstract: A system is provided for executing a system call originating in a local computer on a first remote computer connected to the local computer via a network. Communication is established between the local computer and the first remote computer via the network. A syscall server is installed in the first remote computer. A reference address is sent from the first remote computer to the local computer via the network through execution of code by the syscall server. A syscall request is built in the local computer with arguments determined using the reference address received from the first remote computer. The syscall request is sent from the local computer to the first remote computer via the network. The syscall request is copied into a stack of the first remote computer through execution of code by the syscall server. Registers are popped from the syscall request in the stack. Execution of a syscall request is initiated on the first remote computer. The result of the syscall request is pushed onto the stack.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2003Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Core SDI, IncorporatedInventors: Maximiliano Gabriel Caceres, Javier Burroni, Gustavo Ajzenman, Ricardo Quesada, Gerardo Gabriel Richarte, Luciano Notarfrancesco, Bruce Robert Leidl, Agustin Azubel Friedman, Gabriel Martin Becedillas Ruiz

Publication number: 20070215385Abstract: A method of determining the invasion of a water-based drilling fluid into a formation comprising using at least two tracers, of which one is deuterium oxide and the other is another water-soluble tracer. The use of these two tracers enables the practitioner to distinguish between water from the drilling fluid and water that is inherent in the formation. The ability to make this distinction improves the accuracy of calculations and calibrations that include formation water as a factor or variable. The method is particularly useful when calculations are to be based upon the analysis of core samples.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: CORE LABORATORIES LPInventor: King Anderson

Publication number: 20070214878Abstract: A method of ascertaining or measuring subterranean events includes use of deuterium oxide-depleted water as a tracer. The presence of deuterium oxide-depleted water may be measured at a subterranean location by means such as core sampling, for any purpose for which tracers are known to be useful. For example, the presence or absence, and level, of deuterium oxide-depleted water in a core sample may be used to determine fluids saturation levels, porosity and permeability, as well as other subterranean formation and/or reservoir characteristics important to the oil and gas production industry.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: CORE LABORATORIES LPInventor: King Anderson

Patent number: 7272400Abstract: The load in a cell or a cell sector is balanced in the process of sending store and forward messages to multiple recipients located in a single cell or cell sector. When one or more messages are sent over a wireless communication network to one or more recipient devices, information about the identity of the base station and cell sector serving the recipient device(s) is obtained. A current load for the cell or cell sector can also be obtained and used to control the number of simultaneous message transmissions to the cell sector to avoid overloading the sector. Message transmission may be allocated according to predetermined transmission rules for a cell sector or by dynamically allocating message transmission according to fluctuating traffic loads in the cell sector. Accordingly, a first subset of messages may be transmitted to a single recipient, or a single message may be transmitted to a subset of intended recipient devices.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2003Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Assignee: Core Mobility, Inc.Inventor: Konstantin Othmer

Patent number: 7246662Abstract: A device for determining a location of an interface between a first fluid and second fluid includes a non-mechanical sensor that measures a selected parameter of interest relating to the fluid surrounding the sensor (“the surrounding fluid”) and a processor for processing the sensor measurements. The non-mechanical sensor measures a parameter relating to the surround fluid without physically co-acting with the surrounding fluid. Exemplary parameters such as thermal properties, electrical properties, fluid properties, and magnetic properties can be measured. The processor is programmed to process the sensor measurements to identify one or more characteristics in the measurements that can indicate the nature of the fluid being measured and thereby determine the location of the interface. The determined location can be used to operate a downhole device such as a pump, to provide real-time monitoring of well conditions, to record data for long-term reservoir characterization, or to actuate an alarm.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2004Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Core Laboratories Canada LtdInventors: Kirby Jabusch, Colin Bussiere
