Patent number: 6455125Abstract: A method for manufacturing a paper core material is described. The paper core material has uses such as in the building industry and has the advantage that no toxic home syndrome is caused in a newly built house or office. The paper core material has a continuous geometric pattern such as rectangular or hexagonal cells and is made by the method of providing a plurality of base paper strips, bending and gluing the base paper strips to form the paper core material having a continuous geometric pattern, treating the paper core material with a charcoal solvent comprising activated carbon dust, wood vinegar and a flame-resisting agent, and drying the paper core material. An alternate method is provided which involves treating the base paper strips with the charcoal solvent, drying the base paper strips, and then bending and gluing the base paper strips to form the paper core material having a continuous geometric pattern.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2000Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: Dice Core CorporationInventor: Michiko Morishita

Patent number: 6453966Abstract: Winding cores for the paper industry are restored by removing the metal tips from the ends of the core, trimming the core to eliminate the crimped end portions of the core, providing complementary male and female joint ends to the core, grinding the outer surface of the core to a constant outer diameter less than the industry standard outer diameter to accommodate a finishing layer. The cores with the complementary joints are pressed end to end to form a core master prior to its being ground and then picking up the core masters one by one and bringing them into proximity of a web of liner board material having a length which corresponds to the length of the core master and a width which corresponds to the circumference of the core, contacting the glue bearing liner board web with the core and rotating the core to wrap the web of liner board about the core to provide a finished restored core. The core master is then cut into suitable length winding cores.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2000Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: CSI Core Specialties Inc.Inventor: Stuart Ostroff

Patent number: 6443243Abstract: A core stabilization apparatus and method are implemented. An inner barrel having a plurality of ports disposed circumferentially and axially in a wall thereof is provided. A gas manifold is attached to a first subsets of the ports. Gas is delivered to an interior of the inner barrel via the gas manifold and the corresponding ports. Drilling mud remaining in the interior of the inner barrel is expelled through a second subset of ports. After expulsion of the drilling mud, a stabilizing compound is injected into the interior via an injection manifold attached to the second subset of ports. Upon curing of the stabilizing compound, the inner barrel and core sample contained therein may be sectioned or otherwise manipulated.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2000Date of Patent: September 3, 2002Assignee: Core Laboratories Global N.V.Inventor: Theodore Joseph Griffin, Jr.

Patent number: 6430508Abstract: The present invention provides a method of obtaining and processing seismic data to obtain enhanced geophysical maps from pre-existing 3D seismic data. A first set of data is obtained from a vertical seismic profile (VSP) survey and a second set from reverse seismic profile survey by reversing the locations of the sources and receivers of the VSP survey. The two sets of data are combined to determine a transfer function or model, which is then applied to a set of 3D seismic data to obtain a seismic map of the area surveyed for the 3D data.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2000Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Core Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Vasudhaven Sudhakar, Emil Blias

Publication number: 20020099736Abstract: A method of storing a structured data document includes the step of first flattening the structured data document to provide a plurality of tags, a data entry and a plurality of format characters in a single line. The plurality of tags, the data entry and the plurality of format characters are stored. Flattening the document generally significantly reduces the number of lines used to describe the document. In addition, a dictionary is created for the tags and the data entries. A map store only stores pointers to the tags and the data entries.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2001Publication date: July 25, 2002Applicant: Neo-Core, L.L.C.Inventors: Linda Lee Grimaldi, Christopher Lockton Brandin, Kevin Lawrence Huck

Publication number: 20020099792Abstract: A method of performing a search of a numerical DOM (document object model), includes the steps of receiving a query. When the query is a fully qualified query, the target string is transformed to form a fully qualified hashing code. An associative lookup is performed in a map index using the fully qualified hashing code. A map offset is returned. The map offset points to a couplet that can be converted into a standard portion of a structured data document. Finally, a data couplet is returned.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2001Publication date: July 25, 2002Applicant: Neo-Core, L.L.C.Inventors: Christopher Lockton Brandin, Kevin Lawrence Huck, Linda Lee Grimaldi

Patent number: 6317007Abstract: A delayed start oscillator includes an oscillator enable signal having first and second states thereof for selectively enabling and disabling the oscillator respectively. An oscillator output signal has first and second levels thereof responsive to the first state of the oscillator enable signal for providing an oscillator output signal. A timing circuit is coupled to a supply voltage line for providing a timing signal output indicative of a selected delayed start duration and a plurality of series connected inverting stages are coupled to receive the oscillator output signal and the timing signal. The oscillator output signal remains at a first level for the delayed start duration in response to the timing signal and subsequently transitions between the first and second levels at an operational frequency determined by the plurality of inverting stages until the oscillator enable signal transitions to the second state thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2000Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignees: United Memeories, Inc., Sony Corporation Core Technology & Network CompanyInventors: Michael C. Patent number: 6307524Abstract: A printed Yagi antenna of the present invention has a circuit board, a driven element having an impedance &OHgr;d and being printed on the circuit board, a director element printed on the circuit board, a reflector element printed on the circuit board, a microstrip transmission line, and a coaxial cable having and impedance &OHgr;c. The coaxial cable feeds the driven element via the miscrostrip transmission line and &OHgr;c is approximately equal to &OHgr;d. Further, the spacing between the reflector element, the driven element, and director elements are chosen so that an optimum balance is achieved between directional gain and performance sensitivity. The printed Yagi antenna has a partial folded driven element having a J shape which is grounded at the mid-point of the longest portion of the element. The configuration allows for a coaxial cable to be attached directly to the microstrip transmission line without the use of a matching network or balun.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: October 23, 2001Assignee: Core Technology, Inc.Inventor: Kent Britain

Patent number: 6275563Abstract: An apparatus and method for a wellsite &ggr;-ray analysis of core samples is implemented. A wheeled carriage supporting a &ggr;-ray detector stably straddles a core sample, which may be encased in a core barrel. A bracket attached to the carriage may hold a radionuclide source of &ggr; radiation positioned distally from the detector, thereby forming a space therebetween for passage of the core. The density of the core may be determined by counting the &ggr; flux attenuated by the core; by traversing the carriage along a length of the core, the density may be determined as a function of position, and disrupted core or partial recovery detected thereby. Additionally, the natural &ggr; emission of the core may be observed by traversing the apparatus along the core without the radionuclide source.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1999Date of Patent: August 14, 2001Assignee: Core Laboratories, I.P., Inc.Inventor: Theodore Joseph Griffin, Jr.
