Patent number: 7453299Abstract: Programmable dynamic amplifiers with hysteresis are provided. The hysteretic amplifiers have a first input voltage threshold when the output voltage is at a high voltage and a second input voltage threshold when the output voltage is at a low voltage. A multiplexer controls the hysteretic threshold voltages in response to the output signal of the amplifier. The hysteretic amplifiers can be programmed to have positive or negative hysteresis. When the amplifier is programmed with positive hysteresis, the output voltage transitions after the input voltages have both reached a common voltage value. When the amplifier is programmed with negative hysteresis, the output voltage transitions before the input voltages have both reached a common voltage value.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2008Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: Altera CorporationInventor: John H. Patent number: 7454205Abstract: A startup process of an access point (AP) includes a discovery phase and an announcement phase. During the discovery phase, the AP detects neighboring APs from its own extended service set (ESS), neighboring APs from different ESSs, and external sources of interference. During the announcement phase, the AP transmits its beacon signals at maximum power in order to accelerate recognition by neighboring APs running the discovery phase. An automatic initialization channel selection process of an AP scans channels the AP will use to communicate. Information of each scanned channel is recorded and a best performance channel is determined for use by the AP.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2006Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: InterDigital Technology CorporationInventors: Christopher Cave, Angelo Cuffaro, Paul Marinier, Teresa Joanne Hunkeler, Juan Carlos Zuniga, Vincent Roy

Patent number: 7454716Abstract: The subject invention provides for systems and methods that improve visualization of messages in a user's inbox. The systems and methods cluster messages into four groups: unaccessed, unaccessed and pending; pending; and read. This allows a user to more efficiently handle large volumes of messages in a prioritized way. Additionally, it supports a seamless flow between triage of new messages, management of recently received messages, and retrieval of recent as well as older messages for the user. Messages can include conversations between a user and one or more contacts, email (electronic mail) messages, voice messages, images, documents, tasks, as well as other forms of media. In one aspect of the invention, messages can be organized and/or prioritized into any of at least four clusters, whereby the four clusters appear in the order of unaccessed, unaccessed and pending, pending, and accessed.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2003Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Gina D. Patent number: 7453731Abstract: In a non-volatile memory, a selected page on a word line is successively programmed by a series of voltage pulses of a staircase waveform with verifications in between the pulses until the page is verified to a designated pattern. The programming voltage at the time the page is programmed verified will be to estimate the initial value of a starting programming voltage for the page. The estimation is further refined by using the estimate from a first pass in a second pass. Also, when the test is over multiple blocks, sampling of word lines based on similar geometrical locations of the blocks can yield a starting programming voltage optimized for faster programming pages.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2006Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: Sandisk CorporationInventors: Loc Tu, Charles Moana Hook, Yan Li
