The system provides apparatus for processing a sound signal (212) that includes an input to receive the sound signal (212), a sound unmixer (204) coupled to the input to receive the sound signal (212) and unmix at least one sound stream (216) from the sound signal (212) based on at least one unmixing instruction (214), and an output coupled to the sound unmixer (214) to output the at least one sound stream (216).

Abstract: An image display system with one or more client computers in selective communication with a visual server having image processing capabilities. The client computer generates image-modifying data corresponding to a generated image, and transmits the data to the visual server. The visual server receives the image-modifying data, generates a modified image based upon the image-modifying data, and transmits the modified image as compressed data to the client. The client decompresses the modified image data and displays the modified image. In the system, the visual server and client can provide a sequential display of modified frames on client to support animation with complex 3-dimensional graphics.

Abstract: A method for navigating among tracks uses limited input commands. A plurality of tracks is associated with a currently playing queue. One of the tracks in the queue is identified for a current focus. A voice command is received that includes a directional aspect and a metadata filtering aspect. In response, the focus moves to a second track having a different value for the selected metadata filtering category.

Abstract: There is provided an image capturing apparatus able to be draped onto a stand. The apparatus includes an image capture module for capturing at least one image; and a flexible cable originating from the image capture module for connection of the image capture module to a host. The flexible cable may be for supporting the image capture module at a desired position when the image capturing apparatus is draped onto the stand. Advantageously, locating the image capture module at the desired position enables a user to look at a lens of the image capture module in a manner where a recipient of an image of the user views the user looking directly at the recipient during a video conference session. There are also provided methods for enabling a user to appear to be looking directly at a recipient of an image of the user during a video conferencing session.

Abstract: A driver apparatus configurable for receiving and processing at least one input signal. The driver apparatus can be coupled to ground potential. The driver apparatus can include a processing portion, a ground potential coupler and a control portion. The processing portion can be configured for receiving and processing the at least one input signal in a manner so as to produce drive signals. The ground potential coupler can couple at least a portion of the processing portion to the ground potential such that the processing portion can be configured to produce the drive signals based on an effective reference potential. The control portion can be coupled to the processing portion and the ground potential coupler. Additionally, the control portion can be configured to receive and process at least a portion of the drive signals in a manner so as to control variance of the effective reference potential.

Abstract: A two-channel phase-amplitude stereo encoding and decoding scheme enabling flexible and spatially accurate interactive 3-D audio reproduction via standard audio-only two-channel transmission. The encoding scheme allows associating a 2-D or 3-D positional localization to each of a plurality of sound sources by use of frequency independent inter-channel phase and amplitude differences. The decoder is based on frequency-domain spatial analysis of 2-D or 3-D directional cues in a two-channel stereo signal and re-synthesis of these cues using any preferred spatialization technique, thereby allowing faithful reproduction of positional audio cues and reverberation or ambient cues over arbitrary multi-channel loudspeaker reproduction formats or over headphones, while preserving source separation despite the intermediate encoding over only two audio channels.

The intermediate portion can be configured to produce a compensated signal based on the processed input signals. The intermediate portion can also be configured to produce a first mixed signal and a second mixed signal based on the set of input signals and at least a portion of the compensated signal. The output portion can be configured to produce a set of output signals based on the first and second mixed signals.

Abstract: Embodiments of a virtual surround-sound system and methods for simulating surround-sound are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, a processing module may include spatial processor spatially processes surround-left and surround-right channel signals and front-left and front-right channel signals and combines the spatially-processed signals for providing to drivers of center speaker after crosstalk cancellation and combining with a center-channel signal. In some embodiments, the processing module may include circuitry to cause the spatial processor to refrain from spatially processing either the front-left and front-right channel signals when front-left and/or front-right speakers are connected.
