Abstract: A control device comprising a housing assembly, at least one button, and a controller. The housing assembly comprises a front surface including plurality of button zones each comprising a tactile switch and a plurality of touch sensors. The at least one button is adapted to attach to the housing assembly over at least one of the button zones such that a projection extending from a rear surface of the button is aligned with the tactile switch in the at least one of the button zones. The controller determines which button zone and which location of the button zone is actuated in response to receiving signals from at least one of the tactile switches and at least one of the touch sensors.
Abstract: An apparatus drives and guides movement of a display assembly that includes a display unit. At least one track extends along at least one side of the display assembly and defines a path along which the display assembly is driven. A plurality of pins extend from the display assembly to the at least one track. At least one constant force spring has at one end a coiled part that is rotatably coupled to the display assembly, and an opposing end fastened to a fixed mounting location, and an uncoiled part extending between the coiled part and the opposing end. The at least one constant force spring is configured to drive the display assembly from a lowered position to a raised position while the plurality of pins travels along the at least one track and guide movement of the display assembly.
Abstract: A motorized shade comprising a motor adapted to lower or raise a shade material for selectively covering an architectural opening based on a position of the sun. The motorized shade comprises a controller adapted to drive the motor phase according to a startup sequence by ramping up amplitude form an initial amplitude to a startup amplitude and ramping up frequency from an initial frequency to a drive frequency, drive the motor phase according to a full drive sequence to move the shade material by driving the motor phase according to a sinusoidal waveform at a set maximum amplitude and at a drive frequency, and drive the motor phase according to a wind down sequence by reducing frequency from the drive frequency to an end frequency and reducing the amplitude from the maximum amplitude to an end amplitude.

Abstract: A battery-operated motorized roller shade that can be charged through an installation bracket. The roller shade comprises a roller tube, a motor and at least one battery disposed within the roller tube, and a motor head disposed at a terminal end of the roller tube having a motor head interface. The installation bracket comprises an installation bracket interface and an exterior wall comprising an installation bracket connector adapted to removably connect to and electrically interface with a power adapter. The motor head is adapted to removably attach to the installation bracket wherein the installation bracket provides electrical power to the at least one battery within the roller tube when the installation bracket is connected to the power adapter.

Abstract: A roller shade comprising a roller tube, a shade material attached to the roller tube, and a shade drive unit adapted to rotate the roller tube to lower or raise the shade material. The shade drive unit comprises a spring adapted to counterbalance the shade drive unit, a spring carrier, and a spring fastener. The spring carrier comprises a cylindrical barrel, wherein one of the first and second ends of the spring is concentrically positioned over the cylindrical barrel of the spring carrier. The spring fastener comprising a body having a curved bottom surface adapted to be positioned over one of the first and second ends of the spring and attached to the cylindrical barrel of the spring carrier.
Abstract: An integrated latching mechanism includes a slider button. At least one curved elastic arm extends from the slider button and is configured such that in response to an external force urging the slider button in a first direction, the curved elastic arm is distorted such that upon removal of the external force, the curved elastic arm moves the slider button in a direction opposite to the first direction. A locking part is contiguous with the slider button and extends away from the slider button. In response to the external force urging the slider button in the first direction, the locking part moves in the first direction, and upon removal of the external force, the curved elastic arm moves the locking part in the direction opposite to the first direction. The at least one curved elastic arm, the slider button, and the locking part form a single piece of elastic material.

Abstract: A motorized shade for covering an architectural opening that can be actuated by touching its shade material. The motorized shade comprises a shade material extending between an upper end and a lower end and a motor drive unit operably connected to the upper end of the shade material and comprising a motor and a motor control module adapted to control the motor to raise or lower the shade material. The shade material comprises at least partially comprises electrically conductive material. The motor control module comprises a capacitive touch sensor that is electrically connected to the upper end of the shade material via at least one electrical contact. The motor control module is adapted to detect a touch of the shade material via the capacitive touch sensor and in response control the motor to raise or lower the shade material.
