Abstract: Disclosed is a method of compressing and decompressing an executable file in a mobile communication terminal capable of improving a compression mode of an executable file necessary for an operation of the mobile communication terminal to reduce a booting time of the terminal and to smoothly carrying out a wireless upgrade service. The method of the invention divides storage spaces in which executable files are stored into plural areas depending on properties of the executable files using a scatter loading file and selectively compressing each of the areas.

Abstract: In a multi-zone management method of a mobile terminal and a handoff method of the mobile terminal using multi-zone management, the mobile terminal records or deletes zone identification information in or from a base station table managed for a handoff, and the zone identification information is used as information for preventing a mobile terminal from frequently registering to a new base station due to frequent handoffs in an overlapping area of two base stations.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electret condenser microphone which reinforces electrostatic discharge protection and noise isolation by adding a series of components in the electret condenser microphone. According to the present invention, it is possible to block TDMA noise by embodying an RC circuit using series resistors and a varistor having a capacitor component in an electret condenser microphone, and to provide ESD protection effect when testing air or contact ESD by mounting two transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diodes. It is possible to block RF noises in various frequency bands, and to reduce TDMA noise level when making a call with a maximum power level, by applying an electret condenser microphone for ESD protection and noise isolation to a mobile communication terminal. Further, since the electret condenser microphone according to the invention uses an internal analog ground, an artwork of a PCB substrate or isolations from other parts is possible.

Abstract: An apparatus for calculating decision parameters in an IMT-2000 system includes a correlation value calculation unit having a number of correlation value calculators, each of which calculates a correlation value between selected information that is selected at the mini-slot selection unit and one of capable input signals. To selectively operate the correlation value calculators, a ranking determination unit is included to receive and rank the correlation values and to selectively operating the correlation value calculators according to the rank of the correlation values. Accordingly, the power consumption of the correlation value calculators is reduced. And, the decision parameter is selected from the decision parameters previously selected during the divided monitoring section, thereby enabling high-speed cell search.

Abstract: Provided is a wireless communication terminal for mobile commerce that can suspend events during Radio Frequency (RF) payment, and a method thereof. The terminal for mobile commerce can secure integrity of the mobile commerce by suspending events generated during the RF payment of a mobile commerce. The terminal includes: a storage for storing a pre-established authentication number; a keypad for receiving a mobile commerce request and an authentication number; a controller for requesting authentication for the mobile commerce to an authenticator in response to the mobile commerce request, analyzing an authentication response message from the authenticator; and the authenticator for authenticating the mobile commerce; an RF antenna for transmitting/receiving an RF signal for a function of the mobile commerce under the control of the controller; and a display for displaying the mobile commerce process.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for displaying hologram of a mobile communication terminal. The present invention can create hologram from two-dimensional image by providing a hologram processing function for a mobile communication terminal and provide the hologram to a user. Further, the mobile communication terminal with the hologram processing function can perform medical diagnosis on a user, and thus can save a life by performing accurate medical diagnosis in emergency through hologram communication with an emergency center.

Abstract: A method of operating an Internet protocol (IP) address that effectively allocates, creates, and processes an interface identifier (ID) of an IP address area, and a subnet system using the same are provided. Allocation is done such that in the IP address area including a subnet prefix area and an Interface ID area, certain bits of the Interface ID area are used as an index area of a subnet gateway. In this case, the allocation is implemented in order from the higher layer to the lower layer so that the Interface ID area is sequentially allocated from the higher bits thereof for the index areas of the respective layers. The combination of the certain bits of the allocated Interface ID and the subnet prefix area of the IP address area is used as the subnet ID of the respective subnet layers. The lowest subnet gateway allocates the Interface ID to terminating equipment trying to access to the IP network based on a format of the IP address.

Abstract: A wireless communication terminal transmitting/receiving data with a folder closed and a method thereof are disclosed. The wireless communication terminal includes: a wireless transceiver for transmitting and receiving data through a wireless communication network; a storage for storing the transmitted data and the received data; a detector for detecting a state of the folder of the wireless communication terminal in order to determine whether the folder is opened or closed; an outputting unit for indicating a result of the data transmission/reception; and a controller for analyzing the transmitted/received data to detect the last packet of the data, and continuing to perform the data transmission/reception without regard to the detected state of the folder until the last packet of the data has been detected.

Abstract: Portable electronic devices with displays having switchable mirrors are described. The switchable mirror covers the display and is capable of switching from a transparent state to a reflecting state responsive to a switch in the portable electronic device. In one embodiment of the present invention, the display is switched off when the switchable mirror switches to its reflecting state. In another embodiment of the present invention, the switchable mirror is switched to its reflecting state when the portable electronic device is switched off.

Abstract: Caller information display system includes a caller terminal, a service system and a receiver terminal. The caller terminal stores caller information and transmits data including the caller information during a call. The service system receives the data including the caller information from the caller terminal and transmits the data to a receiver terminal. The receiver terminal receives the data from the service system, stores the caller information to be linked with a telephone number of the caller terminal, and displays the caller information when a paging signal is received.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for automatically detecting the presence of a strobo in an earphone jack port of a mobile terminal wherein the strobo is automatically enabled without the additional operation of the mobile terminal when the strobo is plugged into an earphone jack while a user uses a built-in digital camera. The present invention safeguards the mobile terminal against severe damage being done thereto by mistakenly choosing options to enable a strobo without knowing that an earphone/microphone set is plugged in the earphone jack of a mobile terminal.
