Abstract: A magnetic latch for a gate has first and second units for mounting on a gate and a gate post respectively. The first unit has a displaceable latch element displaceably mounted in a support in a housing and biased to a retracted position, and a second unit with a complementary engagement structure with which a latching portion of the latch element is adapted to engage when the magnetic latch is in a latching position and the latch element is displaced to a projecting position. A magnetic attracting arrangement is provided to cause the latch element to move to the projecting position and engage in the engagement structure when the magnetic latch is in the latching position, and then the engagement structure prevents movement of the door or gate away from the closed position.
Abstract: A latch has a magnet in one unit and an attracted element (e.g. ferromagnetic structure or another magnet) in second unit with a latching mechanism which operate under magnetic attraction. The latch has an actuator connected to a linkage to cause displacement of the magnet or the attracted element in a direction substantially normal to the axis of pivoting.

Abstract: A latch has a displaceable latching element in a housing for engagement with a separate striker arm to be latched behind an engagement shoulder of the latching element. The housing mounts a cylinder lock to receive a key from the front: A rotor is mounted on the rear of cylinder lock and rotation of the key rotation the rotor to drive a locking element to engage and lock the latching element. The rotor may also be axial displaceable against spring biasing responsive to a rear unit pushing element whereby unlocking from a rear cylinder lock may rotate the rotor to unlock and pushing causes the latching element to be displaced against its biasing to release the striker arm.

Abstract: A new process for preparing pure amorphous rosuvastatin calcium, substantially free of impurities, is disclosed. A process comprising hydrolysing a C1 to C5 alkyl ester of rosuvastatin, preferably methyl rosuvastatin or tert-butyl rosuvastatin, with a base, e.g. sodium hydroxide, in the presence of an aprotic solvent, preferably tetrahydrofuran and N,N-dimethyl acetamide, or in the presence of a mixture of an aprotic solvent and water, to obtain a solution of rosuvastatin salt, which may be converted to another rosuvastatin salt using another cation, e.g. with calcium cation to obtain rosuvastatin calcium. Rosuvastatin amine salts may be obtained as well. In another preferred aspect of the invention rosuvastatin free acid may be converted to various rosuvastatin salts, e.g. to rosuvastatin calcium, rosuvastatin sodium or various rosuvastatin amine salts, including rosuvastatin solvates, e.g. rosuvastatin calcium hydrate.
Abstract: A composition that may be used to seal and strengthen the joints in an asphalt road surface and subsurface to prolong the useful life of the road is disclosed herein. The composition utilizes a polymer modified cationic maltene emulsion containing polymer modified maltene oils and resins, and surfactants/and wetting agents. The emulsion is applied to the longitudinal joints and other joints in the asphalt pavement surface. The emulsion reduces voids in the asphalt pavement and chemically improves the asphalt binder properties, thereby altering the modulus of elasticity of the asphalt binders so that the resistance of the pavement to tension is increased, and the water absorption of the pavement is reduced.
Abstract: A gate latch is adapted to be installed on a gate post and a complementary striker arm is secured typically to a gate so that, upon closure of the gate, the striker arm engages a displacable latching element mounted in a housing of the latch to displace the latching element. The latching element is biased towards its open position but when the striker arm engages with the latching element it is displaced, thereby releasing an interference portion of a biased locking element, whereby the locking element is released to move under its biasing into a locking position so that self-locking is provided for the latch. A rotary release mechanism may be actuated to return the locking element so that the latching element can be released to release the striker bar and the gate may be opened.

Abstract: A molding apparatus includes a bottom platen, a bottom mold portion carried by the bottom platen, and a top platen overlying the bottom platen and the bottom mold portion. The top platen includes slots extending therethrough for receiving a molding material. The molding material is to be gravity deposited into the bottom mold portion. A top mold portion is carried by the top platen and is moveable between a molding material loading position and an article forming position. An actuator is coupled to the top mold portion for moving the top mold portion between the molding material loading position and the article forming position. The molding material loading position corresponds to when the top mold portion is non-overlying the bottom mold portion so that the molding material can be gravity deposited therein. The article forming position corresponds to when the top mold portion is overlying the bottom mold portion for molding an article.
