Patent number: 11278859Abstract: A miniaturized, automated method for controlled printing of large arrays of nano- to femtoliter droplets by actively transporting mother droplets over hydrophilic-in-hydrophobic (“HIH”) micropatches. The technology uses single or double-plate devices where mother droplets can be actuated and HIH micropatches on one or both plates of the device where the droplets are printed. Due to the selective wettability of the hydrophilic micropatches in a hydrophobic matrix, large nano- to femtoliter droplet arrays are created when mother droplets are transported over the arrays. The parent droplets are moved by various droplet actuation principles. Also, a method using two plates placed one top another while being separated by a spacer. One plate is dedicated to confirming and guiding parent droplets by using hydrophilic patches in a hydrophobic matrix, while the other plate contains HIH arrays for printing of the droplets.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2020Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, K.U.Leuven R&DInventors: Jeroen Lammertyn, Daan Witters

Patent number: 11274867Abstract: A dynamic refrigeration system may automatically, at pre-determined time periods on-the-fly, adjust a refrigerant system's refrigerant pressures to predetermined optimal efficiency pressures as the internal and external heat loads change over a range. This may result in the refrigerant system pressures closely operating within a range of predetermined optimal efficiency pressures. This system may automatically instantaneously fine tune and balance on all air conditioning, heat pump, and refrigeration systems as the internal and external heat loads are continuously changing dynamically. The system may include a small liquid refrigerant pump and refrigerant storage tank, one or more wired or wireless pressure transducers and temperature sensors, and a “brain” to make decisions to keep the system instantaneously set at factory specs all the time. The system may include a wireless communication means so it can instantaneously report its operating condition, loads, and cost of operating.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2021Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: Joshua R&D Technologies, LLCInventor: David Pickett

Patent number: 11274160Abstract: The present invention relates to a new antibody anti-nectin-4. Nectin-4 is a tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in several cancers and notably in 30%, 49% and 86% of breast, ovarian and lung carcinomas, respectively, which are tumors of bad prognosis. Treatments remain still elusive. That's why the inventors developed a new targeted therapy based on an antibody having specificity to nectin-4 (called 14A5.2 mab). Indeed, the inventors selected this antibody for its intrinsic prophylactic anti-metastatic properties and also for the treatment of localized primary and metastatic cancer. More, the 14A5.2 mab could be indicated for the treatment of cancer resistant to ASG-22ME (from Astellas company). Thus, the invention relates to the 14A5.2 mab and its uses thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2018Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignees: INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, INSTITUT JEAN PAOLI & IRENE CALETTES, CENTRE NATIONALE DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE, UNIVERSITE D'AIX MARSEILLEInventor: Marc Lopez
