Abstract: An optic providing reduction in secondary or ghost images includes a beam splitter, a reflective surface, and at least one baffle therebetween. A transmissive surface may be located between the beam splitter and the reflective surface. The baffle is positioned to intercept internally reflected ghost rays while being substantially parallel to outside light rays along a line of sight of the viewer, permitting use in see-through optics. The baffles may be formed of light absorbing material, diffusing structures, and combinations of both. Baffles intercept and absorb ghost rays to the exclusion of projected image rays that provide a desired projected image which are internally reflected through the optic. An assembly including such optic integrated with a wearable vision system, such as a head-mounted display, is also disclosed for near-eye application.

  • Publication number: 20220001102
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are provided for transseptal access of septa within a patient. The device can be advanced to a septum, e.g., towards a fossa ovalis. Instead of applying positive pressure to “tent” the septum, a negative pressure is applied to a lumen within a sheath, e.g., within an elongated member slidable within the sheath, via a negative pressure source such as a syringe on the proximal end of the sheath. This results in the septum pulling inward. The sheath employs a stationary needle-like central core component contained within the lumen of the sheath that punctures the septum when the same is pulled passed it by the negative pressure.

  • Patent number: 11214906
Abstract: An inner drum of a washing machine has a plurality of hollow lifting ribs arranged on the side wall of the drum that communicate with the interior of the drum. At least one drainage port communicating with the hollow portions of the lifting ribs is formed in the side wall of the drum. A sealing valve is located inside each lifting rib at each drainage port. During high-speed rotation of the drum, valve bodies of the sealing valves move along a radial center direction of the drum under a centrifugal force, to open the drainage ports. Through this arrangement, discharging water flow in the drum to the outside from the hidden drainage ports is achieved. Meanwhile, centrifugal force during the high-speed rotation of the drum is used to control valve cores of the sealing valves such that the drainage ports are automatically opened for drainage from the drum.

  • Patent number: 11216962
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to an integrated circuit and computer-implemented method for estimating a depth map from an image using a joint bilateral filter at reduced computational complexity. For that purpose, image data of an image is accessed as well as depth data of a template depth map. A joint bilateral filter is then applied to the template depth map using the image data as a range term in the joint bilateral filter, thereby obtaining an image-adapted depth map as output. The applying of the joint bilateral filter includes initializing a sum-of-weighted-depths volume and a sum-of-weights volume as respective empty data structures in a memory, performing a splatting operation to fill said volumes, performing a slicing operation to obtain an image-adapted depth volume, and performing an interpolation operation to obtain an image-adapted depth value of the image-adapted depth map for each pixel in the image.
