    Abstract: A self aligning clutch release bearing, mountable on a guide tube in a clutch assembly, includes inner bearing race tube and a rigid guide socket. An elastic collar affixed to the interior of the bearing race tube is provided with resilient internal projections which contact the guide tube and permit slight lateral shifting of the bearing race with respect to the guide tube. A rigid guide socket rides on the guide tube and has a radial flange which frictionally engages a corresponding radial flange on the bearing race tube to deter inclination of the inner bearing race tube relative to the guide tube.

    Abstract: The following specification describes a thin walled insulating boot formed of a thermoplastic molding material and attached by means of the circuit breaker in encircling relationship to the open end of the breaker. The boot prevents ionized gas created when the circuit breaker is tripped from completing a circuit path to adjacent metal portions. The boot walls extend past the open end of the breaker and a back wall spaced from the open end of the circuit breaker defines a chamber enabling expansion of the ionized gas.

    Abstract: A children's furniture piece which can be used for different purposes by merely placing the furniture piece on different sides thereof so as to serve as desk, straight seat, inclined seat, and shelves. The furniture piece comprises side panels with straight and with inclined edges which latter have cutouts and protrusions that are so arranged that the cutout of one furniture piece receives the protrusions of the other furniture piece when stacking the furniture pieces one upon the other whereby automatically a slipping of the furniture piece in either one of two opposite directions will be prevented. The cutouts are correlated with the seat and desk position so that the elbow freedom of a child using the furniture piece as seat will be increased. The furniture piece is furthermore provided with lateral discs having the double purpose of increasing the stability of the furniture piece while also serving as armrest.

    Abstract: In the embodiment shown, the device comprises a pair of turbine wheels, rotatively journaled, each having a peripheral, concave channel. The wheels are journaled to close onto each other, in close proximity, to define of their channels a circular aperture. A conduit is directed to impel rounds of shot into the aperture, so that rotary torque power will be derived from the turbine wheels. A supply of pressured steam accelerates the rounds through the conduit to the aperture, and a feed wheel singly and successively introduces the shot into the conduit. A drive belt fixed around a hub on the feed wheel and a hub on one of the turbine wheels imparts rotation to the feed wheel, and the spent-missile end of the conduit opens onto the feed wheel to cause the latter to store and advance shot.

    Abstract: A carburetor for an internal combustion engine has an auxiliary starting device for delivering fuel and air to the induction passage during starting and cold running. The starting device comprises a duct opening into the induction passage downstream of the throttle means receiving fuel and air, and provided with a closure valve opened until the temperature of the engine has reached a first predetermined value. The flow of fuel entering the duct is reduced upon the engine becoming self operative. A flap located in the induction passage upstream of the opening of the main fuel delivery system is biased toward opening by the air flow around it and is resiliently biased toward closure with a force which decreases as the temperature of the engine increases.

    Abstract: A method of facilitating the disposal of waste cutting liquid consisting essentially of an emulsion of partly soluble oils and water comprises subjecting a trickling flow of the liquid to the action of a current of hot air at a temperature of from 80.degree. to 250.degree. C. and thus evaporating the water from the liquid. Insoluble oils may be removed from the liquid by decantation before the liquid is subjected to the current of hot air. Preferably the oil which remains after the water has been evaporated from the liquid is used as fuel in the heating of the hot air so that the oil is disposed of. Apparatus for carrying out this method comprises an evaporation tower containing a series of plates alternately inclined in opposite directions to the horizontal and arranged one beneath the other to permit a trickling zig-zag flow of the cutting liquid over the plates from the top plate to the bottom plate in the series.

    Abstract: The following specification describes a feeder duct post assembly including a conduit for extending electrical connections from above a suspended ceiling to an outlet receptacle located between a pair of spaced barrier walls in the post. An upper wall on the conduit forms a lower wall of a junction box at the upper end of the post and defines a passage for extending communication wiring through the post to an outlet passage located above the outlet receptacle and barrier walls. The junction box has a cover movable between an open and closed positions, while retained on the box to enable wiring of the junction box. A boot on the lower end of the post optionally receives a plate having prongs to secure the post to carpeting or receives a pad or plate having an adhesive coat to secure the post to smooth flooring.

    Abstract: A current limiting iron wire resistor having a transformable resistance for a current limiting circuit breaker. Each pole of the circuit breaker includes said resistor in parallel with a pair of auxiliary contacts for current limiting which are in series with a pair of main contacts to open the circuit. The main contacts are separable upon operation of a thermally and electromagnetically operable tripping mechanism, and the auxiliary current limiting contacts separate only on occurrence of a high amplitude fault current above a preselected threshold value. When that value of fault current is reached, the tripping mechanism and associated components which operate the auxiliary current limiting contacts serves to increase arc voltage almost instantaneously to that of the source, about which time the fault current is totally shunted into the current limiting resistor.

The opening of the end knob is smaller than the contained enlarged handle portion, and fits over the smaller cross-section of the handle portion adjacent the enlarged portion.

    Abstract: An electric plug and socket connector comprises a base provided with movable contacts resiliently urged towards their contact position, a plug provided with fixed pins, and a rotary safety disc which in its resting position masks the movable contacts and which is provided with as many openings as there are pins on the plug, sized and arranged suitably to enable the pins to pass through them and to become applied end-wise on the movable contacts after rotation of the disc. The angular locking or detention in the resting position and in the contact position of the safety disc is ensured at least in part by projecting insulating elements connected to the movable contacts and urged by the resilient means of the latter to be engaged in the resting position and in the contact position in separate recesses formed in the disc.
