Patent number: 4032448Abstract: Conventional sewage ejector systems include a standpipe into which effluent may drain and seep into the surrounding soil thus causing pollution problems. This device includes a sewage ejector nozzle connected to a discharge pipe and forming part of said pipe. The nozzle and pipe are detachably secured within a sealed standpipe so that when the system is not working, the effluent within the discharge pipe drains back into the standpipe and is contained thereby until the next discharge cycle commences at which time it is picked up by the effluent passing through the jet which includes a venturi restriction. When the effluent in the standpipe is all ejected, air is picked up and entrained in the effluent stream thus aerating the discharge effluent.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1975Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: D. Patent number: 4031795Abstract: Modulation systems for electrical signals representing music in which synchronous vibrato and tremolo modulations are applied to a flute signal in one channel, the vibrator being produced by a bucket brigade modulator and the tremolo by a balanced modulator in cascade with the bucket brigade modulator, and in which in a second channel tones other than flute tones, and pedal tones, are separately treated to have independent vibratos, and in which balanced modulators for modifying the amplitude of the tone signals are concurrently controlled by a common expression voltage. In one modification flute signals are vibrato modulated in opposed phases, and passed via diverse filters to a common tremolo modulator. Provision is made for combining the inputs of the channels, the outputs of which are electroacoustically transduced by separated loudspeakers. Provision is made for slowly varying the frequency of a sub-sonic modulating oscillator, which is either turned off, or operates at about 1 or about 6 Hz.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1975Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: D. Patent number: 4030699Abstract: A device for slidingly displacing or shifting a heavy load along a sliding comprises a platform provided with double-acting hydraulic jacks and resting on a guide rail. The platform is provided with hooks movable in a vertical direction and adapted to penetrate, when in their lowered position, apertures provided in the rail. Each hook has an oblique surface at the front end of the hook, which surface forms a sliding ramp adapted to slide on the front edge of an aperture wherein the hook is engaged. Each hook further has a locking surface at its rear end, which is adapted to cooperate with the rear edge of said aperture. The distance between any two adjacent ones of the apertures provided in the rail is at least substantially equal to the stroke length of the jacks, whereby the actuation of the jacks allows the load to be displaced by incremental movements.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1976Date of Patent: June 21, 1977Assignee: Union Industrielle et D'EntrepriseInventor: Wolfram Heimke

Patent number: 4030364Abstract: A safety guard for a press brake includes a sheet of rigid transparent material suspended by a pair of first cables from a frame of the press. A lower edge of the sheet is displaced a predetermined distance above a bed of the press providing just enough room so that a forward portion of a workpiece can be slid beneath the lower edge of the sheet and positioned on the bed of the press without providing additional space through which an operator's hands can be inadvertently extended. An operator holds a rearward portion of the workpiece with both hands as a ram of the press comes down during a work cycle to engage and fabricate or form the forward portion of the workpiece positioned on the bed. Just before the fabrication begins, a second pair of cables connected to the sheet and passing through a series of pulleys alternately on the frame and ram of the press operates, as a consequence to movement of the ram, to rapidly move the sheet out of the way of the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1976Date of Patent: June 21, 1977Assignee: Square D CompanyInventor: Felix M.
