Abstract: The device (10) comprises a cylindrical resonator (R) vibrating in extension-compression along its longitudinal axis (?) and having a vibration node (N) in its mid-plane (?), the vibration naturally generating radial extension/compression deformations, and a mechanical decoupling module comprising a hollow cylinder (2) surrounding the resonator and a membrane (1) positioned in the aforementioned mid-plane and rigidly connected to the cylindrical surface of the resonator and to the internal cylindrical surface of the hollow cylinder. The hollow cylinder vibrates in extension/compression in antiphase with the vibration of the resonator, enabling the effects of the radial deformations of the hollow cylinder and of the resonator to compensate each other in an area (ZF) located on the external surface of the hollow cylinder close to the mid-plane.

Abstract: An exemplary system and method enables direct transfers of content between devices to be evaluated by service providers in support of marketing services and the like to those devices (and their users). The system and method utilizes cards and records during the direct transfers to capture user activity information and then provides those cards and records to the service providers. Thus, even though the direct transfer is off-network or outside of the service provider system, the use of cards and records by the system and method provides the user activity information to the service provider for enhancing marketing services.
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed that ensure that customers are aware of and express agreement to the terms and conditions of a service contract before using or managing services associated with their service contract. The present invention may confirm whether a user has accepted the terms and conditions of a service contract independently of validating a user's UserID and password, which may be received when the user attempts to manage the services associated with their service contract.
Abstract: The inventive technology, in at least one embodiment, may be described as a method of destabilizing an aqueous hydrocarbon emulsion comprising the steps of: effecting contact between a sorbent and said aqueous hydrocarbon emulsion; effecting relative motion between said sorbent and said aqueous hydrocarbon emulsion; and destabilizing (perhaps in continuous fashion) the aqueous hydrocarbon emulsion. Applications include but are not limited to oil spill clean up, manufacturing of emulsions, oil refinery and production operations (anywhere along the production chain).

Abstract: A failure diagnosis circuit includes a multiplexer and a controller. The multiplexer receives address signals, and selectively outputs one of the address signals to an addressable module in response to a selecting signal. The controller generates a first one of address signals and the selecting signal. A built-in self-test circuit generates the second address signal. The addressable module includes addressable components responsive to the address signal. The controller processes the output of the addressable module responsive to the address signal to make a failure diagnosis. The built-in self-test circuit performs signature analysis on the read out output of the addressable module.
