Abstract: An optical probe for measuring physical and chemical characteristics of a transparent fluid medium during flow comprises two fingers parallel to one another and to the flow. Each finger consists of a solid bar of transparent material, in which a light beam propagates and is reflected on an end face of the bar, said face being situated upstream in the flow. Such an optical probe may be reduced in size, and provides results which are less sensitive to disturbances of the flow that are caused by the probe itself.

Abstract: Congruent power and timing signals in a single electronic device. In an embodiment, a circuit may include just one isolation transformer operable to generate a power signal and a timing signal. On the secondary side, two branches may extract both a power signal and a clock signal for use in the circuit on the isolated secondary side. The first branch may be coupled to the transformer and operable to manipulate the signal into a power signal, such as a 5V DC signal. Likewise, the second circuit branch is operable to manipulate the signal into a clock signal, such as a 5 V signal with a frequency of 1 MHz. By extracting both a power supply signal and a clock signal from the same isolation transformer on the secondary side, valuable space may be saved on an integrated circuit device with only having a single winding for a single isolation transformer.
Abstract: A portable, small-sized device is provided to accurately conduct a leakage test for a liquid volume meter such as a pipette. In operation, pipette P is connected to the device main body side via a tube. A command from a central processing unit causes a pump to perform a suctioning operation to depressurize the pipette P side to a predetermined pressure. Any pressure changes over a predetermined period of time are monitored by a pressure sensor. The central processing unit determines whether there is leakage from the pipette P, and displays a judgment result on a display unit. In particular, when a diaphragm pump is used as the pump, the pulsation of an air flow occurring in a suction operation is attenuated in a pressure vessel so as not to have harmful effects on either the inspection results or the pipette P side.

Abstract: Limiting clipping in an amplifier is accomplished in the feedback loop of a class D PWM amplifier that includes an integrator coupled to an input node and configured to generate an integrated input signal such that a comparator may then generate a PWM signal for driving an amplifier output stage based on a comparison to a triangle wave signal. To this end, the amplifier also includes a threshold signal generator for generating high and low voltage thresholds based on the triangle wave signal to be used to engage compensation circuits for limiting the overall amplification. Such compensation circuits may be bipolar junction transistors that are disposed in the feedback loop of the integrator. Thus, the overall bandwidth of the amplifier itself is not affected by adding a limiter circuit aimed at reducing clipping.
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a control system, which includes a plurality of switch devices each electrically connected between an electrical appliance and a power supply unit for turning on or off the electrical appliance, and a processing server respectively connected to the switch devices and capable of turning the switch device into a turned-on or turn-off state at a predetermined time according to a time schedule stored therein. In addition, the processing server can generate an exception time data when determining an exceptional condition (e.g., a specific event took place, a user did not leave home on time, or the user turned on the electrical appliance on his or her own initiative) occurs, and then change the state of each switch device preferentially according to the exception time data, so as to adjust the time schedule in a timely manner upon determining the occurrences of different exceptional conditions.
