  • Publication number: 20150134428
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that facilitate provisioning of a toll system communication device used in an electronic toll collection system, such as EZ Pass. The toll system communication device (e.g., an EZ Pass tag) can have user credentials provided to it that are associated with a user payment account. As a user travels a toll road, the toll system communication device is interrogated at a toll booth location. In response to the interrogation, the toll system communication device provides information identifying the toll system communication device and associated user credentials. The user credentials may be obtained from or authenticated with a mobile device within close proximity to the vehicle equipped with the toll system communication device. Using the user credentials and the identifying information, a user payment account may be provisioned to pay tolls accrued by the vehicle using the toll road.

  • Publication number: 20150130591
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for providing audible, visual, and tactile alerts detectable by first responders in a geographic region impacted by a mass casualty event, such as a natural disaster or a terrorist attack. In certain aspects, an electronic device of an individual trapped within a damaged structure may establish wireless communications with a mobile cellular site and may receive a request to generate an alert audible to first responders. In response to the request, the electronic device may identify first device settings corresponding to the audible alert, and generate the audible alert in accordance with the obtained first device settings. In certain aspects, the audible alert may enable first responders to identify locations of victims trapped within structures damaged by the mass casualty event.

  • Patent number: 9027592
Abstract: A valve comprises a support including an exhaust gas passage opening, a plug able to move by tilting between a plugging position and a release position of the passage opening, and an elastic strip for returning the plug to its plugging position. The elastic strip has a first end fastened to the support and a second end bearing on the plug. The second end is able to slide on the plug between a first position, in which the plug is in the plugging position, and a second position, in which the plug is in the release position. The plug includes a stop forming a hard spot that cooperates with the second end of the elastic strip when the elastic strip is in the first position, so that this stop forms an obstacle for movement of the second end of the elastic strip from the first position to the second position.
