Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for providing an avatar service with the background having the reality. A 3-D avatar service is provided under a 2-D background image and a user feels as if the 2-D background image is realized as a 3-D space. Thus, the user feels the reality as if the avatar exists in the 3-D space based on the 2-D images photographed by a camera without performing the 3-D rendering.
Abstract: A quantum processor may employ a heterogeneous qubit-coupling architecture to reduce the average number of intermediate coupling steps that separate any two qubits in the quantum processor, while limiting the overall susceptibility to noise of the qubits. The architecture may effectively realize a small-world network where the average qubit has a low connectivity (thereby allowing it to operate substantially quantum mechanically) but each qubit is within a relatively low number of intermediate coupling steps from any other qubit. To realize such, some of the qubits may have a relatively high connectivity, and may thus operate substantially classically.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for conforming a functionalized flexible planar film on an optical lens. The apparatus according to the invention may also be used in a process of functionalization of an optical lens. As a factor of the functionalization that one wishes to introduce into said optical lens and the nature of the functionalized flexible planar film used, the functionalization process is a process of gluing, transfer, or molding of a functionalized flexible planar film onto an optical lens. The implementation of each of these respective processes makes it possible to obtain a functionalized optical lens, said functionalization being adhered, transferred, or molded using a functionalized flexible planar film.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for the acquisition and correlation matching of points belonging to a stereoscopic pair of images, whereby the pair is formed by a first image and a second image representing a scene. According to the invention, the two images of the pair are acquired with a single acquisition instrument (30) comprising two sensors CCD (31, 32) in the optical focal plane. The matching of the acquired stereoscopic pair consists in determining, by means of correlation, the point in the second image that is homologous to a point in the first image. Said correlation is performed for a point from the first image using an optimally-sized correlation window. When the homologous point of a point from the first image has been determined, the position deviation between the point from the first image and the homologous point thereof is entered in a table. Once all of the homologous points of the points from the first image have been found, the results table is reset barycentrically.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment suspension trauma relief strap assembly for use with a full body harness includes a pair of straps connectable in two configurations. The first configuration is formed by engaging a hook of one strap with one of a plurality of closed loop arrangements of the other strap to form a sling upon which a person donning the full body harness may stand. The second configuration is formed by engaging the hook of the one strap with one of the plurality of closed loop arrangements of the one strap and engaging the hook of the other strap with one of the plurality of closed loop arrangements of the other strap to form two slings upon which a person donning the full body harness may stand.
Abstract: A progressive lens for ophthalmic spectacles has an additional zone for intermediate vision. This additional zone is located beneath a near-vision zone. It enables objects located at a distance of between 1.0 and 1.5 meters, in a direction inclined at about 35 degrees to a line of sight passing through a cross mark (CM) on the lens, to be seen clearly. To achieve this, the optical power progression between a far-vision point (FV) and a near-vision point (NV) of said lens has a power-increase threshold which is located approximately at the cross mark.

Abstract: The gas exhaust comprises a generally cylindrical shaped casing closed by a bottom at one end and with openings to allow gas to escape. A duct is arranged in the casing to delimit a central passage inside the duct, and an annular passage surrounding the central passage outside the duct between it and the casing. There is a communication consisting of four holes in the duct close to the bottom to form a communication between the central passage inside the duct and the annular passage. The casing includes two diametrically opposite openings located in a horizontal plane.

Abstract: In the preferred embodiments, a method to reduce gate leakage and dispersion of group III-nitride field effect devices covered with a thin in-situ SiN layer is provided. This can be obtained by introducing a second passivation layer on top of the in-situ SiN-layer, in combination with cleaning of the in-situ SiN before gate deposition and before deposition of the second passivation layer.
Abstract: A process for combining a polythiol reactant and an alkenyl silane reactant to form a polysulfide polysilane. The reactants are combined in a thiol-ene addition process driven by UV radiation. The polysulfide polysilane is then hydrolyzed and may be combined with other hydrolyzed compounds. For coatings, the polysulfide polysilane is hydrolyzed and may optionally be combined with nanoparticles. For bulk materials, the polysulfide polysilane is hydrolyzed, concentrated, and heated to form a high refractive index material which can be used to form optical articles such as lenses.
