Abstract: The invention relates to a battery device (10) for a vehicle, having a main battery system (20) with at least two battery units (BS) and an emergency battery system (30) with at least one battery unit (BS), wherein the main battery system (20) has more battery units (BS) than the emergency battery system (30), wherein the main battery system (20) and the emergency battery system (30) furthermore have the same nominal voltage and are electrically connected in parallel with one another, and the main battery system (20) has a main switch (22) for disconnecting the main battery system (20) and the emergency battery system (30) has an emergency switch (32), separate from the main switch (22), for disconnecting the emergency battery system (30).

Abstract: A valve train includes a camshaft which has a cam group having a firing cam and a braking cam. A first cam follower is assigned to the firing cam with the first cam follower being provided in a firing mode for actuating a gas exchange valve. A second cam follower is assigned to the braking cam which is provided in a braking mode for actuating the gas exchange valve. A changeover device is provided to changeover between the firing mode and the braking mode. The camshaft has a separate switching cam which, in at least one operating mode, is provided to act directly on a switching element of the changeover device and which is provided for a direct changeover between the firing mode and the braking mode.
Abstract: A method for operating a reciprocating internal combustion engine in an engine braking mode includes, in a working cycle of the engine braking mode, a first outlet valve of a first cylinder is closed for a first time, then opened for a first time, and subsequently closed for a second time, and then opened for a second time, in order to thereby discharge gas that has been compressed in the first cylinder from the first cylinder by a cylinder piston. The outlet valve is held open after the first opening and prior to the second closing long enough for the cylinder to be filled with gas that flows out of a second cylinder via at least one outlet channel, where when the engine braking mode is activated, at least one camshaft for activating at least one gas exchange valve of the reciprocating internal combustion engine is adjusted.
Abstract: An arrangement for converting thermal energy from lost heat of an internal combustion engine into mechanical energy includes a working circuit for a working medium. An expansion engine is disposed in the working circuit. A heat exchanger is mounted upstream of the expansion engine in a flow direction of the working medium where the working circuit extends through the heat exchange. The heat exchanger includes an exhaust gas recirculation heat exchanger having a cold part and a warm part, an exhaust gas heat exchanger, and a phase transition cooling in the internal combustion engine. The heat exchanger is formed by serial connection in a sequence of the cold part of the exhaust gas recirculation heat exchanger, the exhaust gas heat exchanger, the phase transition cooling in the internal combustion engine, and the warm part of the exhaust gas recirculation heat exchanger.

Abstract: An energy storage unit for a motor vehicle has a support frame which can be non-destructively detachably mounted on a body of the motor vehicle and a plurality of storage modules for storing electrical energy which can be mounted on the support frame. The storage modules are configured as intrinsically sealed units which can be arranged on the support frame from bottom to top in the vertical direction of the vehicle and can be inserted into respective corresponding receiving openings in the support frame.

Abstract: A valve train of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes a rocker arm assigned to a first combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine where via the rocker arm a gas exchange valve assigned to the first combustion chamber is actuatable. An actuating device is assigned to a second combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine where via the actuating device, by supplying the actuating device with a hydraulic fluid, the second combustion chamber is switchable between a firing mode for fired operation and a braking mode for an engine braking operation of the internal combustion engine. A supply of the hydraulic fluid to the actuating device assigned to the second combustion chamber is adjustable by the rocker arm assigned to the first combustion chamber.
Abstract: A feed and ignition device for a gas engine has an injector for the direct blowing-in of a combustion gas into a combustion chamber of the gas engine. The device also has a pre-combustion chamber into which a fuel can be introduced and a plurality of overflow openings distributed in the peripheral direction of the injector over the periphery of the feed and ignition device via which the pre-combustion chamber can be directly connected fluidically to the combustion chamber. A spark ignition device ignites a fuel-air mixture including at least the fuel introduced into the pre-combustion chamber. The pre-combustion chamber, the overflow openings, and the spark ignition device are formed by a first structural unit and the injector is formed by a second structural unit formed separately from the first structural unit.
Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine is fed to a particulate filter of the motor vehicle. Until a predetermined filtration rate of the particulate filter is reached, a temporary interruption of a fuel supply to the internal combustion engine is prevented in an overrun mode of the motor vehicle if a temperature of the exhaust gas in the particulate filter is greater than a predetermined threshold value of the temperature. An arrangement of the particulate filter in an exhaust system of the motor vehicle is also described.
