Abstract: A method for preparing a fuel cell system in a vehicle for starting, for which purpose a starting preparation routine is carried out after the vehicle has been shut down depending on a temperature limit value. In the method, in the event that the fuel cell had not reached its normal operating temperature during the previous operation and a temperature falls below the predetermined temperature limit value, the fuel cell system is operated until it has reached its normal operating temperature and after which the starting preparation routine is subsequently carried out.

Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle having a cylinder, the combustion chamber of which is delimited in the radial direction by a cylinder wall and in the axial direction by a piston and by a combustion chamber roof. The piston has an annularly peripheral piston stage which is arranged axially recessed in the piston compared with an annularly peripheral piston crown and which merges via an annularly jet splitter contour into a piston hollow arranged axially recessed in the piston in relation to the piston stage. An injector is allocated to the cylinder and via the injector several injection jets are simultaneously injected directly into the combustion chamber in a star shape for a combustion process.
Abstract: A valve drive device has a camshaft which includes a shaft element and a cam piece which can be driven by the shaft element and a first cam effecting a first stroke of a valve and a second cam effecting a second stroke of the valve, and is displaceable in the axial direction of the camshaft relative to the shaft element between a first position, in which the valve can be actuated by the first cam, and a second position in which the valve can be actuated by the second cam, and has an electrically controllable actuator via which the cam piece is displaceable relative to the shaft element in the axial direction as a result of an electrical control of the actuator. The actuator pushes the cam piece alternately back and forth between the positions in the case of successive electrical controls occurring with the same polarity.

A bypass line bypasses the turbine wheel and via the bypass line at least part of the exhaust gas can bypass the turbine wheel. The bypass line also bypasses the first exhaust gas aftertreatment element. The bypass line is fluidically connected to the exhaust system at a branch point disposed upstream of the turbine wheel and upstream of the first exhaust gas aftertreatment element. Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine having a cylinder, an intake valve, an air pipe, and a valve element disposed in the air pipe, includes detecting a signal for causing a fuel supply of the cylinder to switch off. The valve element is moved out of a first position into a second position triggering a lower flow cross-section while the fuel supply is still activated, where a first cam for actuating the intake valve is allocated to the intake valve. While the fuel supply is still activated, switching from the first cam to a second cam and via the second cam the intake valve is actuated such that the intake valve causes a reduced air intake. An exhaust cam shaft for actuating an exhaust valve is set in an advance direction such that a valve intersection of the intake valve and of the exhaust valve ceases.
