The vehicle battery pack includes a first battery accommodating portion disposed in a first space of the vehicle and a second battery accommodating portion, where the second battery accommodating portion is greater in a vehicle-widthwise dimension than the first battery accommodating portion, where the second battery accommodating portion is connected to the first battery accommodating portion, where the second battery accommodating portion is disposed in a second space, and where the second space is below the first space in a vehicle-heightwise dimension. A frame-side bracket is disposed at a vehicle-widthwise outer surface of a web of a side rail of a ladder frame of the vehicle and projects outward in a vehicle-widthwise direction and a connecting member elastically connects the second battery accommodating portion to the frame-side bracket to suspend the vehicle battery pack to the ladder frame.

Abstract: Device and method for displaying a current driving mode of a vehicle, at least one of several driving modes of the vehicle is an autonomous driving mode. The device includes a display unit having a light source and an imaging unit interacting with the light source. A first controller controls the light source. The first controller is configured such that it meets a first technical qualification with regards to a reliability or safety criterion. The first controller only activates the light source in the event of the current presence of the autonomous driving mode. A second controller controls the imaging unit, the second controller is configured such that that it meets a second technical qualification with regards to the reliability or safety criterion. The first technical qualification corresponds to a higher degree of reliability or safety with regards to the reliability or safety criterion than the second technical qualification.

Abstract: A method for operating a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine in an engine braking mode includes moving an outlet valve of a first cylinder for a first time into a closed position, subsequently for a first time into an open position, subsequently in a direction of the closed position, and subsequently for a second time into the open position. The outlet valve is held open during the moving in the direction of the closed position for such a long time that the first cylinder is filled with gas which flows via an outlet duct out of a second cylinder. The outlet valve is moved, during the moving in the direction of the closed position, into an intermediate position which lies between the open position and the closed position, where from the intermediate position the outlet valve is moved for the second time into the open position.

Abstract: A mounting direction determination device and a mounting direction determination method of an acceleration sensor which can automatically determine the direction of the acceleration sensor mounted on a vehicle.
