  • Patent number: 10988075
Abstract: A vehicle lighting device includes at least one headlight, a position and/or acceleration sensor, and a control unit for adjusting a light/dark boundary of the headlight. Pitch movements of the vehicle can be detected by the position and/or acceleration sensor, and a change in the light/dark boundary due to the respective pitch movement can be compensated for by the control unit. The position and/or acceleration sensor and the control unit are arranged in the headlight or directly on the headlight.

  • Patent number: 10989139
Abstract: A crankcase for a reciprocating piston engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, includes at least first one wall region that has a greater wall thickness than at least one second wall region of the crankcase that adjoins the first wall region. The crankcase is produced from an aluminum alloy and by at least mainly laminar die casting and is heat-treated completely or heat-treated completely and additionally locally or heat-treated only locally.

  • Publication number: 20210107344
Abstract: A vehicle battery housing which enables an electric vehicle to have an increased battery on-board capacity. The vehicle battery housing is mounted on a vehicle having a ladder frame and includes a first battery accommodating portion arranged in a first space between two side rails constituting the ladder frame and a second battery accommodating portion greater in vehicle-widthwise dimension than the first battery accommodating portion and connected to the first battery accommodating portion to be located in a second space vehicle-heightwise below the first space.

  • Publication number: 20210109124
Abstract: A mounting direction determination device and a mounting direction determination method of an acceleration sensor which can automatically determine the direction of the acceleration sensor mounted on a vehicle. The mounting direction determination device determines a mounting direction, relative to a vehicle, of the acceleration sensor that is capable of detecting a first acceleration in a first direction and a second acceleration in a second direction. A mounting direction determination unit determines the mounting direction by comparing values actually measured by the acceleration sensor with determination reference data. The determination reference data specifies a combination of the detection results of the first acceleration and the second acceleration and the mounting directions.

  • Patent number: 10974646
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle having a seat arranged in an interior of the motor vehicle for a passenger, into which seat at least one oscillator for transmitting oscillations to the passenger's body is integrated, and having a sound system for acoustic sound reproduction in the interior, includes determining the passenger's passenger state and selecting and reproducing a type of a sound sequence that is associated with the passenger's state via the sound system. The at least one such oscillator is activated on the basis of the selected type of sound sequence. In this way, convenience functions and/or assistance systems of the motor vehicle can be improved.

  • Patent number: 10967334
Abstract: A mixing device for mixing exhaust gas from a combustion engine of a vehicle with a solution for lowering the content of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas includes a casing with an exhaust inlet, an exhaust outlet, and a corner region in which an exhaust gas flow is diverted toward the exhaust outlet. The corner region has an opening for a dosing unit. A flow guide is arranged within the casing. The flow guide is configured to divide a total of the exhaust gas flow into a first exhaust gas stream and a second exhaust gas stream. A gap for the second exhaust gas stream is formed between the flow guide and a side wall of the casing. In the side wall the opening for the dosing unit is located. An end region of the flow guide is arranged upstream of the opening for the dosing unit.

  • Patent number: 10968814
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle has at least one cylinder for accommodating a piston and at least one pre-chamber spark plug allocated to the combustion chamber of the cylinder. The engine also has a pre-chamber, fluidically connected with the combustion chamber via several openings, in which at least one ignition spark is generable by the pre-chamber spark plug. At the induction stroke of the internal combustion engine, a rinsing of the pre-chamber with inlet gas including at least fuel and air occurs, so that, at the ignition point, an ignitable mixture of fuel and air is accommodated in the pre-chamber.
