Abstract: An internal combustion engine has first and second combustion chambers, first and second exhaust gas line elements, and an exhaust gas turbocharger which has a first flood, a second flood, and a third flood. A bypass device has a bypass line that can be flowed through by exhaust gas from the first and second exhaust gas line elements and via the bypass line a turbine wheel is bypassed by a first part of the exhaust gas from the first and second exhaust gas line elements. A valve device includes a first valve element, via which an amount of the exhaust gas flowing through the bypass line and bypassing the turbine wheel from the first and second exhaust gas line elements is settable. A third exhaust gas line element opens out into the third flood.

Abstract: A vehicle battery pack support device applicable to various classes of vehicles and allowing weight reduction and cost reduction. The vehicle battery pack support device suspends a battery pack at a side rail constituting a ladder frame of a vehicle and includes a frame-side bracket secured by bolts to an outer side face of the side rail at a plurality of bolt fastening parts thereof arrayed in a grid arrangement. An elastic coupling part elastically couples the battery pack and the frame-side bracket. A spacer is interposed between the outer side face of the side rail and the frame-side bracket. The spacer includes a plurality of columnar members corresponding to the plurality of bolt fastening parts and a connecting part that connects the plurality of columnar members.
Abstract: A method for carrying out an autonomous driving procedure of a vehicle involves detecting a driver of the vehicle using a camera directed into the interior space of the vehicle. The driver is detected during and after leaving the interior of the vehicle using at least one further camera. A viewing direction of the driver is determined using data detected by the at least one further camera. The autonomous driving procedure is only activated when it is detected that the driver is looking at the vehicle.
Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine having a cylinder, an intake valve, an air pipe, and a valve element disposed in the air pipe, includes detecting a signal for causing a fuel supply of the cylinder to switch off. The valve element is moved out of a first position into a second position triggering a lower flow cross-section while the fuel supply is still activated, where a first cam for actuating the intake valve is allocated to the intake valve. While the fuel supply is still activated, switching from the first cam to a second cam and via the second cam the intake valve is actuated such that the intake valve causes a reduced air intake. An exhaust cam shaft for actuating an exhaust valve is set in an advance direction such that a valve intersection of the intake valve and of the exhaust valve ceases.

Abstract: A method for operating an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, in which exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine flows through a first SCR catalytic converter, which is followed by an ammonia barrier catalytic converter, and flows through a second SCR catalytic converter which is disposed downstream of the ammonia barrier catalyst, includes introducing a reducing agent introduced into the exhaust gas by a first metering device upstream of the first SCR catalytic converter and by a second metering device upstream of the second SCR catalytic converter. Abstract: A method of determining volume of a cargo space of a vehicle in real-time includes generating an initial spatial model of the cargo space using images from a plurality of cameras including cameras for capturing at least one of depth and color, positioned in and around the cargo space, where the images are stitched together into a dense point cloud in real-time, generating an updated spatial model of the cargo space using the images, upon detection of items being loaded or unloaded into the cargo space, where the updated spatial model includes changes to the cargo space, estimating a volume of loaded items in the updated spatial model, and determining a remaining volume of the cargo space based on the estimated volume of the loaded items and a total volume of the cargo space, where the total volume is calculated based on the initial spatial model.

Abstract: A method for operating a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine in an engine braking mode includes moving an outlet valve of a first cylinder for a first time into a closed position, subsequently for a first time into an open position, subsequently in a direction of the closed position, and subsequently for a second time into the open position. The outlet valve is held open during the moving in the direction of the closed position for such a long time that the first cylinder is filled with gas which flows via an outlet duct out of a second cylinder.
