  • Patent number: 7497897
Abstract: An air supply device for the passenger cell of a motor vehicle includes a rotating element formed in an axial suction intake region of the air-conditioning blower and upstream of the air-conditioning blower. The rotating element covers the air inlet region such that all the sucked-in drops impinge onto the element. Arranged in front of the housing wall of the air supply device are drop interception elements which are fixed lamellae of low inclination or wedge structures with acute wedge angles. The drop interception elements are inclined so that the drops impinge at an acute angle. Active water and particle (pre)-separation is thereby ensured.

  • Patent number: 7500151
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for logging messages on a data bus and temporarily storing the sent messages in a cyclically overwritable volatile storing means. The temporarily stored messages can be examined in a targeted manner for attributes of interest by using a verification program. A storage of the temporarily stored messages in a non-volatile second storing means can be initiated by means of definable trigger events that, for example, are formed from individual or a number of attributes of the messages. To this end, the occurrence of the defined trigger event is determined by a monitoring unit, and the data content of the volatile storing means are subsequently transferred into the storage locations of the non-volatile storing means. The principal advantage achieved with the above method resides in the possibility of backtracking the bus traffic.

  • Patent number: 7495580
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for finding a parked vehicle again. According to the invention, a portable unit is provided with a pressure sensor whose signals can be evaluated by an evaluation and control unit in order to determine the current air pressure, with the evaluation and control unit evaluating the determined air pressure in order to determine altitude, and storing a first air pressure value as a reference value at a predeterminable first time, which reference value represents an instantaneous altitude of a geographic position of the parked vehicle, with the evaluation and control unit estimating a height difference between a current geographic position of the portable unit and the geographic position of the parked vehicle at a second time, and/or continuously from a pressure difference between the determined current air pressure value and the reference value.

  • Patent number: 7496442
Abstract: In a method for operating a drive train having a drive motor and an automated variable speed transmission, in selected situations, such as when there is a change in the gear speed of the variable speed transmission, it is advantageous to calculate the profile of the rotational speed of the drive motor in advance. For this purpose, pre-stored profile parameters (for example in the form of gradient values when changes in rotational speed are requested) are corrected as a function of a requested difference in rotational speed. Alternatively, in addition to a corrected gradient it is possible to calculate a corrected reaction times, and to carry out the calculation in advance by means of these variables. The reaction time is obtained as a time difference between actuation of a significant change in a state variable (for example a rotational speed) of the drive train.

  • Publication number: 20090043448
Abstract: An operating method for a vehicle having at least one toggle switch with which, when it is activated, it is possible to change between at least two assigned applications or application groups, and an associated operating system. After activation of the toggle switch has been detected, activation states of at least two assigned applications or application groups are determined, and at least one of the assigned applications or application groups is activated as a function of the determined activation states. A predefined basic state of a predefined application or application group or a stored last state of an application or application group which is activated last is set if all the applications or application groups which are assigned to the toggle switch are in a first state.

  • Patent number: 7488437
Abstract: A method for manufacturing SMC components from an appropriately adapted amount of a fibrous reactive synthetic resin which is provided in the form of defined blanks of prepregs. The prepregs are placed in a defined position into a heated mold of a molding press, the heated resin/fiber mass is flow-molded in the closing mold to form the SMC component, said component is thermally cured and subsequently removed from the mold. Two different approaches are taken, one being intended for introducing the resin mass into the mold as multiple layers and the other for introducing the resin mass as a single layer.

  • Patent number: 7489097
Abstract: A method of controlling a brushless direct current motor without a position sensor. The motor includes a plurality phase windings adapted to be energized by an active inverter circuit that synchronously applies drive voltages through a plurality of phases to produce drive currents in the phase windings. Back electromotive force voltages are detected when the inverter circuit is inactive for sensorless detection of motor position.
