Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle internal combustion engine that has an exhaust tract with an exhaust gas purification unit acting catalytically and/or by filtration with which combustion air supplemented by exhaust gas diverging from the exhaust tract is fed to the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine by exhaust gas branching off from the exhaust tract at a total exhaust gas recirculation rate. The total exhaust gas recirculation rate has a low-pressure proportion diverging downstream from the exhaust gas purification unit and a high-pressure proportion diverging upstream from an exhaust gas turbocharger turbine arranged in the exhaust tract. An essentially decreasing low pressure proportion is set with at least approximately the same operating points of the internal combustion engine with an increasing operating period of the exhaust gas purification unit.
Abstract: A system for the diagnosis of a component of a motor vehicle includes a sever configured to provide at least one test sequence for diagnosing the component and at least one execution parameter allocated to the test sequence. The system also includes a diagnostic device configured to receive at least one test sequence and the at least one execution parameter, and to convert it into a runtime script and execute the runtime script according to the execution parameters. A script generation device is configured to generate the test sequences as OTX script or as ETX script.

Abstract: An air filter for a ventilation device of a motor vehicle is disclosed. The air filter has respective guides, via which the air filter is able to be connected to the allocated guide pin on a receiving shaft of the ventilation device. The guides are allocated to one another on opposite sides and the associated guide pin, which traverses the air filter, is able to be connected to the guides. An arrangement of such an air filter in a receiving shaft of a ventilation device is also disclosed.
Abstract: A method for testing and/or correcting a fuel pressure sensor provided for detecting a fuel pressure in a combustion controlled internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is disclosed. In at least one test run, the fuel pressure is changed from a working pressure value to a test pressure value when the combustion control is active. After the change of the fuel pressure a desired fuel injection duration and an actual fuel injection duration are compared with one another. An internal combustion engine device for carrying out the method is also disclosed.
Abstract: An ornamental grille for a motor vehicle front part is disclosed. The ornamental grille has a plurality of ornamental elements which respectively include an ornamental element end wall and an ornamental element side wall protruding from this and has a plurality of connecting elements via which adjacent ornamental elements are connected to one another respectively. The ornamental elements are arranged in rows and the ornamental elements of one row are laterally offset from the ornamental elements of the adjacently arranged row of ornamental elements.
Abstract: A radiator grille arrangement for a vehicle is disclosed. The grille arrangement has at least one support frame surrounding a primary air inlet, a number of closure flaps which are mounted for rotation around a flap rotation axis between a closed position and an open position, where flap levers are moulded or formed on the closure flaps, the flap levers being operatively connected to a sliding bolt, and an actuating drive for positioning the closure flaps. A flap frame is provided for receiving the closure flaps, the sliding bolt and the actuating drive, where the flap frame is formed in two parts and is able to be attached to the support frame of a radiator shield in a non-positive, positive and/or firmly bonded manner.

Abstract: A method for preparing a fuel cell system for a starting operation involves performing a start preparation routine when switching off of the fuel cell system and/or when the temperature falls short of a predetermined temperature threshold value in order to discharge water and moisture from the fuel cell system. The start preparation routine is changed in accordance with measured values detected within a predetermined time interval before the stopping of the fuel cell system.
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle having an exhaust gas turbo-charger comprising a compressor arranged in an intake tract of the internal combustion engine and a turbine arranged in an exhaust gas tract of the internal combustion engine, with a turbine wheel disposed the turbine housing, an adjustment device is provided by means of which a spiral inlet cross section of a spiral turbine inlet channel and a nozzle cross section of the spiral inlet channel to the turbine wheel are jointly adjustable by a common adjustment device. The invention further relates to an exhaust gas turbocharger, a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and a method for operating an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas turbocharger.

Abstract: A column for a motor vehicle body shell structure and a method for producing the same is disclosed. The column includes a column body which has a first material in a first region and a second material in a second region, where the second region is a reinforcement region. The first region is produced by forging and the reinforcement region is formed by a reinforcement insert and/or a reinforcement core and is forged into, reforged in, forged to, or formed on the first region.
Abstract: In a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, having a combustion chamber with at least one intake valve at an intake side and with at least one exhaust valve at an exhaust side of the combustion chamber and a central injection nozzle for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber, the injection nozzle has injection orifices which are designed and oriented in such a way that a first quantity of fuel is injected into the intake side, a second quantity of fuel injected is into the exhaust side, and a third quantity of fuel which is about equal to the first quantity and greater than the second quantity is injected into a boundary area between the intake and the exhaust sides, providing for a low-emission operation of the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: A method to control functions displayed on a display unit of a vehicle uses gestures carried out in three-dimensional space. When a first gesture carried out in three-dimensional space is detected it is determined whether the detected first gesture is allocated to an activation of an operation of a function. If it is determined that the detected first gesture is the gesture allocated to the activation of the operation of the function, then the function is activated. Next a second gesture carried out in three-dimensional space is detected and it is determined whether the detected second gesture is a gesture allocated to the operation of the function. If it is determined that the detected second gesture is the gesture allocated to the operation of the function then the operation of the function is performed.
