Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor arrangement for seat occupation detection, comprising a fiber-optic sensor network consisting of at least two sensors. The sensor network detest for example local damping modifications in a fiber network that are caused by microbends or modifications of the Bragg wavelength of fiber-optic Bragg grating sensors (FBGS) distributed in the fiber network that are ceased by loads. The optical sensor network is resistant to electromagnetic parasitic inductions. Due to the nature of the optical lass or polymer optical fibers it is for example possible to integrate the network into the textile cover of the seat or into a cushion.

Abstract: A motor vehicle has an electric seat adjuster for a seat and an occupant protection system with a belt assigned to the seat. In the buckled condition, the belt restrains an occupant in the event of a vehicle impact. The adjusting range of the seat adjuster changed as a function of the buckling condition of the belt. In preferred arrangements, the adjusting range is limited to a narrow adjusting range if the belt is not buckled and is limited to a wide adjusting range if the belt is buckled.
Abstract: A method and a tool are provided for producing structural parts from sheet metal which have a vault-structured stiffening zone and adjacent, flat connection zones. The starting point for producing these structural parts is vault-structured blanks which are smoothed in the region of the connection zones in the course of the forming, whereas the vault structure is retained unchanged in the region of the stiffening zone. These structural parts are produced by an embossing tool which has a die and a two-piece punch including of a fixing punch and a forming punch. In the process, the blank is first of all fixed relative to the fixing punch in the region of the vault-structured stiffening zone by a fixing element which is in a leading position with respect to the die. The connection zones are then shaped between the punch and the forming punch.

Abstract: In checking the data integrity of software for transmission errors and authenticity during a download process, the flashed data is checked repeatedly. Such checking is configured in an efficient way by performing the calculation methods for checking for transmission errors and for checking for authenticity while the flashware is located in a buffer with a fast access time, so that lengthy access processes to the flash memory are avoided. It is therefore necessary to access the flash memory only once in order to buffer the flashware in a buffer with a fast access time for all the necessary checks.

Abstract: A load-bearing reinforcement structure for assisting the secure mounting of a load producing element, such as a rear-view mirror assembly, to a vehicular body is advantageously fashioned from a heat and creep resistant plastic, such as glass-reinforced Polyethylene Terephthalate. The reinforcement structure features a mounting element capable of mechanically connecting the reinforcement structure to a surface of a vehicular body, such as an internal surface of a panel of a door assembly, without the need for welding, placement fixtures or use of separate fastening elements.

Abstract: In an arrangement for reducing exhaust emissions and utilizing the throttling energy of an internal combustion engine, a compressor and a generator are operatively connected to a turbine by which the intake air flow is controlled while transferring the throttling energy recuperated by the turbine to the compressor and the generator and, in the engine start-up phase, the compressor supplies fresh air to an engine air intake duct, the intake air flow volume being controlled by the energy withdrawn from the turbine via the compressor and the generator thus eliminating the need for a throttle valve in the fresh air intake line.

Abstract: The invention relates to an operator control unit having at least one operator control for setting a setpoint value, in particular a temperature, an air quantity and/or an air distribution, an automatic function being provided for the air quantity, air distribution and temperature which is activated by actuating the operator control. The invention provides that, by actuating the operator control for longer than an actuation time z, the setpoint values of functions which are controlled directly or indirectly by the air-conditioning unit are reset to the automatic state which is permanently set at the factory.
Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas purification system, a rich-burn mode of the internal combustion engine with a rich exhaust gas composition or a lean-burn mode of the internal combustion engine with a lean exhaust gas composition is set alternately, and the quantity of fuel which is introduced during a combustion cycle of the internal combustion engine is introduced by at least one preinjection, at least one main injection and at least one afterinjection.

Abstract: In a venting device for a fuel tank 1 of a motor vehicle having a filler neck and a venting valve, a circulation pipe is provided which, due to the suction jet effect when refueling circulates gas from the fuel tank back into the tank with the fuel so as to prevent an excessive inflow of fresh air, and which includes a venting pipe extending between venting valve 2 and a filter for discharging excess gases through a filter in order to prevent the escape of fuel vapors into the environment.

Abstract: A truck has a chassis comprises a frame and axles, and a driver's cab mounted on the vehicle chassis. The cab comprises equipment components, a cab floor and also a cab housing and operating elements connected to associated components of the vehicle chassis and serving to operate them. The driver's cab is detachably fastened to the vehicle chassis, and is designed as a removable unit. An interface arrangement is provided, by which all the operating elements of the driver's cab are connected separably to the associated components of the vehicle chassis.

Abstract: A porous burner has a mixing space for premixing reducing agent and oxidizing agent, and an adjoining combustion space filled with a porous material. A flame barrier is arranged between the mixing space and the combustion space. The flame barrier is made from a porous material with a material porosity of less than 60%. This material has a density of at least 1300 kg/m3. The preferred use of a porous burner configured in this way lies in the combustion of hydrogen or hydrogen-rich gas.
Abstract: The invention concerns a vehicle headlight, comprising a two-dimensional array (2) of a plurality of electronic light emitter elements (4), which are arranged for emitting a plurality of parallel light beams (6), a collection lens (8), which is provided one focal length away essentially parallel to the two-dimensional array and positioned for receiving the light emitted by the array, and a control electronic for the light emitter elements operatively associated for energizing the light emitter elements (4) individually or in groups. This results in a headlight with variable light emission characteristics, which is mechanically particularly simple to construct, is operationally reliable, and is rapid to react.
