Abstract: A method for striping based on evaluated rules, the method may include determining a compatibility, with a storage system utilization policy, of storing stripes under evaluated rules; wherein the evaluated rules define a stripe size, a number of parity chunks per stripe, and maximal numbers of chunks within a stripe per different failure domains of different size ranges; checking whether the storing of the stripes is compatible with the storage system utilization policy; when finding that the storing of the stripes is not compatible then searching for one or more changes of one or more of the maximal numbers that yields compliant one or more maximal numbers that once applied results in a compliance with the storage system utilization policy; applying the compliant one or more maximal numbers when finding the compliant one or more maximal numbers; and determining that the evaluated failure domain rules are non-compliant when failing to find the compliant one or more maximal numbers.

Abstract: Embodiments of a remote device mount (RDM) for installing a sensor in drywall and kit for the same are disclosed. The kit includes a mud cap, a paint shield, and a mounting plate. The mounting plate is secured to a framing structure. The plate has a sensor mounting hole extending completely through the plate and an annular sensor recess surrounding the hole. The mud cap is temporarily installed in a sensor recess in the plate to substantially cover the sensor recess and the hole. Drywall mud is applied over the plate and mud cap. The mud cap is removed. The paint shield is temporarily installed in the hole to substantially cover the sensor mounting hole. Paint is applied over the plate and the paint shield. The paint shield is removed in order to uncover the sensor mounting hole. Finally, the sensor permanently installed in the sensor recess and the sensor mounting hole.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for decoding watermarks in video frames. A media device may receive a video frame that includes a first predetermined region comprising a watermark and a second predetermined region having pixel values selected to reduce the perceptibility of the first predetermined region. The media device may detect the watermark in the first predetermined region of the video frame and identify one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to a first pixel value and one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to a second pixel value. The media device then assigns a first symbol to the one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to the first pixel value and second symbol the one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to the second pixel value. The media device then generates a first sequence of symbols from the assigned symbols.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method of real-time process monitoring includes initiating monitoring of user interface (UI) activity in a plurality of user environments in which a user-executed process is performed. The user-executed process is defined in a stored instruction set that identifies a plurality of steps of the user-executed process. The plurality of user environments include a first environment operated by a human worker and a second environment operated by a bot. The method also includes, responsive to the initiating, detecting a new process scenario for the user-executed process. The method also includes determining new bot logic for the new process scenario. The method also includes causing the bot to implement the new bot logic.

Abstract: Systems and methods for programming pluggable transceivers are provided. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving RFID data from an RFID device in proximity to a network transceiver via an RFID antenna in the network transceiver, said RFID data defining an operating configuration of the network transceiver; and programming the network transceiver according to the operating configuration defined by the received RFID data. In an embodiment, a network transceiver includes: a host interface for connecting to a host; a network interface for transmitting and receiving signals to and from a network; an RFID antenna for receiving RFID data; and a controller in operative communication with the network interface and the RFID antenna, said controller operating the network interface according to an operating configuration, wherein the operating configuration of the controller is programmed using the RFID data received via the RFID antenna. Various other embodiments are also provided.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to the management of data. A data provider computer system may store particular data of a user. The data provider computer system may commence sharing of a portion of the particular data with a data consumer computer system. The data provider computer system may continue sharing additional portions of the particular data with the data consumer computer system in response to receiving a report from a verification environment indicating that the particular data is being utilized by the data consumer computer system in accordance with a specified usage policy.

Abstract: A document scanner includes an enclosure with a scanning area. A transparent platform in the scanning area allows a user to position a document for authentication. A top camera takes a picture of the top of the document and a bottom camera takes a picture of the bottom under multiple light conditions including UV, IR, and white light. Mirrors reduce the enclosure size and multiple computers within the enclosure share work to process image data and determine document type. Types are searched in order based historically detected types. Barcode data is decoded and image samples are filtered as one of the computers finds a match. Security features are checked for the detected type and fake variants of the detected type are checked. Card information and formatting is validated and face data captured from a face camera and as shown on the document are matched against a database of banned users.

Abstract: A system designed for increasing network communication speed for users, while lowering network congestion for content owners and ISPs. The system employs network elements including an acceleration server, clients, agents, and peers, where communication requests generated by applications are intercepted by the client on the same machine. The IP address of the server in the communication request is transmitted to the acceleration server, which provides a list of agents to use for this IP address. The communication request is sent to the agents. One or more of the agents respond with a list of peers that have previously seen some or all of the content which is the response to this request (after checking whether this data is still valid).

Abstract: A system, device, and method for collecting user information. An image and metadata associated with the image are captured utilizing a wireless device. The image and the metadata are associated with a device incapable of communication. User information associated with the device is determined. The user information is characterized in context of historical data. The user information is distributed from the wireless device to one or more devices associated with the user information.

Abstract: Aspects of disclosure provide methods, systems, and computer-readable media for direct data displacement. The methods include in view of a write request pertaining to a first object, determining, based on a first signature of the first object, whether an index of a storage system comprises an existing object record pertaining to the first object; and in response to determining that the index of the storage system does not include an existing object record pertaining to the first signature, creating a first object record in the index comprising the first signature and a reference count. The methods further include in response to determining that the index of the storage system includes an existing object record pertaining to the first signature, updating a reference count associated with the first object stored in the existing object.

Abstract: Disclosed is a data encoding, decoding and recovering method of a distributed storage system for data protection of the distributed storage system. The methods include using local recoverable coding, and calling Reed-Solomon coding on data blocks obtained from divisions of file segments based on coding parameters to generate global coding blocks, locally coding to data blocks and global coding blocks respectively to generate local coding blocks. The methods can also include computing decoded block indices and recovered block indices according to current node state, reading block data of assistant node, and implementing decoding of file segments and recovery of failed blocks. The coding method of the present disclosure can reduce the amount of data that needs to be transmitted when recovering a failed node by increasing local coding blocks and speed up the node recovery speed.

Abstract: A system for propagating an identity state change set about shared identities may include a plurality of systems of record (SORs), and a management server cooperating with the plurality of SORs and configured to: detect discrete Create-Retrieve-Update-Delete (CRUD) operations on a given SOR related to at least one shared identity to generate an identity state change set corresponding to a current state of the at least one shared identity; transact the identity state change set, with associated metadata, to a distributed immutable long-term storage as a current transaction; propagate the identity state change set and associated metadata to replicate a current state of the at least one shared identity as of the current transaction to at least one domain cache instance, and; synchronize the current state of the at least one shared identity across the plurality of SORs from the at least one domain cache instance.

Abstract: A distance measurement device includes a light-emitting-unit that emits irradiation light toward an object; a light-receiving unit that receives reflected light from the object; a distance-calculation unit that calculates a distance to the object based on a transmission time of the reflected light received; a posture-adjustment mechanism that adjusts a posture of at least the light-receiving-unit; and a posture-controller that drives the posture-adjustment mechanism. The light-receiving unit is formed of a two-dimensional sensor in which a plurality of pixels are two-dimensionally arrayed, and the distance-calculation unit calculates two-dimensional distance data from received light data in each of the pixels of the two-dimensional sensor.

In one embodiment, a service provider system may receive a request from a merchant to initiate a card present transaction associated with a consumer. The service provider system may determine an identifier associated with a mobile device associated with the consumer. The service provider system may communicate to the mobile device, based at least in part on the identifier, a message that facilitates invocation of a transaction module associated with the mobile device. The service provider system may facilitate the car present transaction based at least in part on an interaction with the transaction module.

Abstract: A distance measurement image pickup apparatus has two measurement periods. In a first distance measurement period, short pulsed light (1T) is irradiated, and exposure is performed in a plurality of exposure periods (A, B, and C) in which exposure timings are shifted. In each exposure period, an exposure gate is opened a plurality of times to perform repetitive exposure, and a first non-exposure period is provided from when a last exposure gate is closed until subsequent pulsed light is irradiated. In a second distance measurement period, long pulsed light (4T) is irradiated, and exposure is performed in a plurality of exposure periods (A, B, and C) in which exposure timings are shifted. In each exposure period, exposure is performed by opening the exposure gate only once, and a second non-exposure period is provided from when a last exposure gate is closed until subsequent pulsed light is irradiated.

Abstract: The invention resides in a method of placing a code, having a plurality of digits, in original data having media data including audio data, such as a music video, piece of music or music track, to produce coded data. The method determining an area of original data where a digit of the code can be placed to inhibit detection using a placement criteria. A coding strategy determines at least one of the format or location of a digit of the code in coded data. The or each digit of the code has a melodic or sympathetic relationship with a characteristic, such as an audio characteristic, of the corresponding original data in the at the location in which it is placed. Digits are added to the original data and outputting coded data. Similarly, the invention resides in a method for decoding and devices and systems for implementing said methods.
