Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a first image forming unit that forms a clear toner image with a clear toner; a second image forming unit that forms a color toner image with a color toner; a transfer unit that transfers at least one of the clear toner image and the color toner image onto a medium; and a controller that controls formation of the clear toner image and the color toner image. When the medium is a heat transfer medium and the color toner image is formed on the heat transfer medium, the controller performs control so that the clear toner image is formed on a region where the color toner image is formed and a weight per unit area of the color toner is less than 0.29 mg/cm2, and a weight per unit area of the clear toner image is 0.15 to 0.55 mg/cm2.

Abstract: An image formation apparatus according to an embodiment may include: an image formation unit; an apparatus main body including therein the image formation unit; a cover rotatable about a first rotation axis to open and close the apparatus main body; an exposure unit including an exposure head; and a holding member fixed to an inner surface of the cover and holds the exposure unit. The holding member includes a first support portion at a side of the holding member closer to the first rotation axis and a second support portion at a side of the holding member farther from the first rotation axis. The first support portion supports the exposure unit to be rotatable, about a second rotation axis parallel to the first rotation axis, and the second support portion supports the exposure unit to be swingable in directions closer to and away from the inner surface of the cover.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to occupancy detection, and more particularly to detecting a change in the occupancy of a predetermined area using a passive antenna array. In certain embodiments, baseline signals may be received by an antenna array associated with a display device. The baseline signals may analyzed to detect a baseline of radio frequency signals present in a predetermined area. New radio frequency signals may be received at a later time. The new signals may be analyzed to reveal characteristics of the new signals. Characteristics of the new signals may be compare to characteristics of the baseline signals to determine if the new signals differ from the baselines signals by more than a threshold amount. One or more actions may be executed in response to determining that the new signals differ from the baseline signals by more than the threshold amount.

Data collection or data distribution statistics for the swarm may be calculated and used to create profiles for peers in the swarm based on their role in data collection or data distribution. Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention concern a novel and interactive way to deliver telematics solutions by separating the delivery of the hardware and software component of a telematics device. The software telematics application is selected and delivered to the customer's telematics device by in-application purchases via the customer's mobile device. The mobile device contains a user interface that is adapted to control and configure the telematics device. The customers may upgrade their telematics applications using their mobile devices. A retailer may also request the upgrade of a customer's telematics application using the retailer's mobile device. The user interface also provide a customer profiler tool to provide individualized search results and recommend telematics applications based on the customer's profile.

Abstract: A method of computing a hear rate compensates for noise in data transmission that can lead to false R-peak detection or missed R-peak detection. The method computes an updated heart rate based on a window of approximately ten seconds of digitized ECG readings broadcast from a sensor. A new value is calculated approximately every second such that the window of ECG readings overlaps considerably between consecutive calculations. The method compensates for noisy data by discarding heart rate samples that differ by more than a threshold amount from a previously calculated heart rate value. The threshold is adjusted based on a standard deviation of differences between heart rate samples.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of conducting wireless transaction includes receiving, using an antenna of a point of sale device, one or more electromagnetic signals from a mobile device of a customer. The electromagnetic signals are interpreted using a communications module of the point of sale device to determine information related to a financial account of the customer. Using a network interface of the point of sale device, a connection with an acquirer system is initiated. Using the network interface a packet of data including an authorization request is transmitted over the connection to the acquirer system. The packet of data includes the information related to the financial account, a merchant identifier, a date, and a transaction amount. An authorization code is received from the acquirer system using the network interface. An electronic receipt is transmitted to the mobile device using the network interface.

Abstract: This invention provides a means to identify unknown media programming using the audio component of said programming. The invention extracts audio information from the media received by consumer electronic devices such as smart TVs and TV set-top boxes then conveys said information to a remote server means which will in turn identify said audio information of unknown identity by way of testing against a database of known audio segment information. The system identifies unknown media programming in real-time such that time-sensitive services may be offered such as interactive television applications providing contextually related information or television advertisement substitution. Other uses include tracking media consumption among many other services.
