  • Patent number: 7887350
Abstract: A fixture for a floating connector is to be mounted on a substrate and has at one end a connection portion to be connected to the substrate. The two fixtures are used in the floating connector including a plurality of contacts, an insulator fixing the contacts therein and having flanges, and a housing covering the insulator and fixing the contacts therein. The fixtures each include at the other end an anchoring bent piece adapted to engage the flange of the insulator to prevent the insulator from floating upwardly to an excessive extent. The floating connector using the fixtures is able to completely prevent the contacts from being buckled or deformed to an excessive extent when the floating connector is being fitted with or removed from a mating connector.

  • Patent number: 7874857
Abstract: A card connector for a plurality of memory cards includes a housing having a plurality of inserting holes for the memory cards, respectively. The card connector includes a swing member made of an elastic metal plate and having fixing portions and a swing part in the form of a hollow square rod having extending portions extending into the inserting holes when the swing member is fixed in the housing. A partition wall between the inserting holes is formed with a rectangular notch and slits in opposite faces of the rectangular notch for press-fitting the fixing portions of the swing member, respectively. When one memory card is inserted into one inserting hole, the inserted memory card causes the swing part to be further extended into another inserting hole, thereby preventing another memory card from being inserted into the another inserting hole.

  • Patent number: 7862345
Abstract: An electrical connector consists of a plug connector and a receptacle connector to be fitted. An insulator is supported only by plug contacts each provided between second and third fixed portions with an elastic portion having at least one snaked portion so as to be floating in a housing. The shape of the second contact portion of each of the plug contacts is substantially in the form of a plate-shaped piece so that the second contact portion of the plug contact and the first contact portion of a receptacle contact are caused to contact each other in line contact at one location, and the elastic portion is arranged within a range from a position below the second contact portion to a position below the insulator. The electrical connector thus constructed is superior in resistance to vibration, and achieves space-saving and floating of the insulator.

  • Patent number: 7845973
Abstract: A contact has at least one contact portion adapted to contact a first connecting object and a connection portion to be connected to a second connecting object. The contact is provided with an protruded contact portion positioned between the contact portion provided at a free end of the contact and the connection portion and curved and substantially aligned with the contact portion. A member having a pushing portion for pushing the first connecting object is so arranged that the pushing portion is in a position facing to the protruded contact portion. With the contacts thus constructed, even if a great number of the contacts are arranged, large forces are not required for inserting and fitting a connecting object in a connector using the contacts, thereby achieving a stable electrical connection.

  • Patent number: 7828570
Abstract: A connector to be detachably fitted with a connecting object, includes a required number of contacts, a housing, and a pivoting member acting upon the contacts to bring them into contact with a connecting object. In case of having many contacts, at least one contact is provided with an extended portion at a tip of its pressure receiving portion to extend toward its connection portion, and instead of a pushing portion of the pivoting member acting upon the contact, the pivoting member is provided with an engaging rod to engage the extending portion of the contact. The contact is arranged at an optional position so as to prevent the pivoting member from being warped. The contacts are arranged in a single row, or alternately arranged to be staggered. With the connector thus constructed, the pivoting member is not damaged when pivotally moving after the connecting object has been inserted to achieve a stable electrical connection even with very small pitches of contacts and very thin walls of the housing.
