    Abstract: The method of making holes in the soil includes driving a capsule into the oil by percussive action and filling the capsule with the soil. Then the driving of the capsule into the soil by percussive action is continued, with the soil passing therethrough. The capsule is then withdrawn from the hole, and the soil that has passed through the capsule is also removed from the hole, whereafter the soil is removed from the capsule itself. The apparatus for making holes, performing the disclosed method, comprises a capsule capable of receiving the soil therein, having an open soil intake end, its opposite end being a partly open one. The capsule incorporates a percussive mechanism.

    Abstract: The fluid-actuated percussion mechanism includes a housing with an internal ylindrical space wherein a reciprocating piston, which divides the space into a working stroke chamber and an idle stroke chamber, is received. The mechanism further includes fluid distributing means and a distribution unit mounted in the housing for placing the chambers and a source of the working fluid in communication. The housing also accommodates a work-performing member adapted to receive impacts from the piston. The distribution unit includes at the inlet of at least one of the chambers a valve made in the form of a resilient annular element. The surface of the distribution unit has valve seats made in it, the number of which corresponds to that of the inlets for supplying the working fluid into the chambers. The resilient valve element is taut about the surface of the distribution unit in opposition to the inlets and encircles the periphery of the unit.

    Abstract: A rock drill in which there is provided an impact unit, a front head with a tool holder and rotary drive means defined by a conventional pneumatic motor having a stator in the form of a cylindrical body, a rotor accommodated in said stator and having a symmetrical cam having a uniform convexo-concavo shape with lobes of said rotor cams being engaged with the inner cylindrical surface of the stator thereby forming chambers; spring-loaded vanes are accommodated in slots provided in the stator, with said vanes being engaged with the cam surface of the rotor and dividing the chambers into work chambers and idle chambers, the number of pairs of said vanes being one less than that of the chambers; each of the work chambers is in communication with channels supplying compressed air, while each of the idle chambers is in communication with channels leading to the atmosphere. Under the action of compressed air admitted into the work chambers, the rotor is rotated along with a drill bit attached thereto.

    Abstract: A reversible ground perforating device powered by a gaseous medium under ssure, comprising a hollow cylindrical body with a pointed front end. The body accommodates a hammer adapted to reciprocate therein. A front power chamber of variable volume is formed by the hammer in the body. The rear end of the hammer has a cylindrical hollow which forms a rear power chamber of variable volume. The power chambers are interconnected by means of ports provided in the hammer. A stepped cylindrical barrel is located inside the cylindrical hollow in the hammer and coaxially therewith. The barrel is secured in the rear end of the body and the large-diameter portion of the barrel is arranged to interact with the hammer. The wall of the large-diameter portion of the barrel has ports. A spring-loaded stepped sleeve is mounted coaxially with the stepped barrel so that the large-diameter portion of the sleeve is adapted to cover the ports in the barrel.

The outer surface of said guide tube contacts the inner surface of the axial hole in the stepped ram and has at least one channel which puts the rear and front working chambers in communication with each other when the stepped ram is in the foremost position, while the front portion of the shell is provided with a rigidly secured clamp for holding the rod-shaped element.

    Abstract: The proposed statistical analyzer comprises a converter of physical quantities to voltage, connected to direct inputs of comparators whose number corresponds to that of voltage quantization levels. The analyzer also includes adders. One input of each adder is connected to the output of a standard voltage generator; the output of each adder is connected to the inverting input of a comparator. The output of each comparator is connected to the second input of each adder corresponding to a quantization level which is one level below the quantization level corresponding to this comparator. The statistical analyzer of this invention is marked by a high accuracy and reliability and makes it possible to obtain a bar chart of any working process parameter of a machine.
