Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of sensing NH3 in a gas and sensors therefore. In one embodiment, a method of sensing NH3 in a gas comprises: contacting a NOx electrode with the gas, and determining if a NOx emf between the NOx electrode and a reference electrode is greater than a selected emf. If the NOx emf is greater than the selected emf, a NH3 emf between an NH3 electrode and the reference electrode is determined. If the NOx emf is not greater than the selected emf, a NH3 emf between the NH3 electrode and the NOx electrode is determined.

  • Patent number: 7201142
Abstract: A tumble control valve for an intake manifold of an engine which eliminates or substantially reduces air leakage between the bottom and sides of the valve blade through a selected rotational segment of the blade as it moves from the closed position toward the open position. The sealed area is maintained by contouring the inner cavity wall to track the arc defined by the bottom edge of the rotating blade. In other embodiments, a flexible flange or wedge-shaped element is attached to the blade to engage the inner cavity wall through the selected rotational segment. In another aspect of the invention, air flow pressure is maintained and tumble is optimized compared to rotational movement of the blade by contouring the top wall surface to track the arc defined by the rotating upper edge of the blade.

  • Patent number: 7201984
Abstract: An integrated system for air-cooling a main air blower drive motor and electronic control module in a fuel cell plant support module (PSM) disposed in an enclosure. Process air is drawn by a main blower fan into the enclosure through a filter and then is drawn from the enclosure into the blower via a first shroud surrounding the electronics process control module (ECM) and a second shroud surrounding the blower motor. The air cools these components and is thereby desirably warmed before being directed to the fuel cell assembly via an air distribution system. Thus, the PSM is constantly cooled and purged through the downstream processes, and the incoming air is constantly warmed by recovered heat from the PSM.

  • Patent number: 7203617
Abstract: Low range limiting malfunctions of an engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor are diagnosed by comparing a change in the sensed temperature during engine operation with a calibrated temperature change. If the change in sensed temperature fails to exceed the calibrated temperature change, and a diagnostic for detecting a stuck ECT signal is either inconclusive or passed, a low range limiting malfunction of the sensor is indicated. If the diagnostic for detecting a stuck ECT signal is failed, the low range limiting diagnostic concludes with no report even if the change in sensed temperature fails to exceed the calibrated temperature change.

  • Patent number: 7194364
Abstract: A method of analyzing a digital media by a digital media player and displaying the condition of the digital media whether or not the player ejects the digital media, provides useful information for the end user. Preferably, an ASIC of the digital media player measures jitter, HF and BLER and inputs the measured values into a microprocessor of the player. If the measured values are greater than respective pre-established threshold values, the microprocessor tabulates and stores running averages to an electronic memory. If the running averages are excessive, the player will deliver an error message to the end user preferably on an electronic display of the digital media player.
