  • Patent number: 8052214
Abstract: A seat structure capable of dealing with both a normal posture and a resting posture and providing sufficient relaxation in the resting posture while ensuring excellent comfortableness of an occupant. According to the present invention, a back frame 20 itself is fixed to a frame support 10 but a cushion frame 30 shifts from a first position A to a second position B according to an occupant's movement and an inclination angle of a pelvis support 31 increases accordingly. The occupant's pelvis portion and a portion lower than the pelvis portion is moved forward but a part of his or her back above his or her breast is not varied. With this structure, the same effect of the resting posture, that is, the posture in which the back frame is reclined in a conventional seat structure, can be obtained. Since the back is not tilted backward, a leg room (footrest) space in a rear seat is not limited.

  • Publication number: 20110169317
Abstract: A seat has a configuration in which, in each side frame of a cushion frame, an inner frame and an outer frame which have flanges extending along peripheral edges thereof are faced to each other with a space therebetween at least partially, and the flanges are fixed by hemming process along the entire peripheral edges thereof. Since the entire peripheral edges are hemmed, the inner frame and the outer frame are securely fixed. Additionally, since the inner frame and the outer frame which are thin-plate-shaped are used, reduction in weight of each side frame can be achieved. Further, since the inner frame and the outer frame are faced to each other with a space therebetween at least partially, a compressive/tensile strength required as a side frame can be secured by inserting an expanded bead body into the space.

  • Patent number: 7971939
Abstract: A seat structure which can ameliorate fatigue of a sitting person in accordance with a long period of sitting is provided. In a vehicle seat 10, a back edge side of a lower layer sheet 50 of a cushion material 20, of which a front edge side is fixed to a front edge side of a sitting portion frame 14, is resiliently connected to a back edge side of the sitting portion frame 14 via a movable frame 34 and a torsion bar 46, which is a resilient member. The cushion material 20 has a spring zero characteristic in which a spring constant of a portion that supports a protrusion portion of the sitting person is smaller than a spring constant of other portions. This vehicle seat 10 makes smaller the energy of vibrations which are transmitted to a spinal column portion of the sitting person through the sitting portion frame 14, and peripheral portions thereof convert vibrations corresponding to fluctuations in the body and transmit these through the sitting portion frame 14.

  • Publication number: 20110148175
Abstract: To achieve weight reduction while providing elasticity sufficient in a cushioning member for a vehicle seat, an elastic member made of expanded resin beads includes an elastic covering material having stretching properties stuck to an outer face of an expanded bead body. Therefore, when the elastic member made of expanded resin beads is bent or compressed, the respective beads themselves configuring the expanded bead body are elastically deformed according to stretching or compressing of the elastic covering material, and since the elastic deformation is not such deformation that a gap between beads of the expanded bead body largely expands, a crack occurring between beads or permanent deformation does not occur so that bending or compressing becomes possible. Accordingly, the elastic member made of expanded resin beads is suitable as a cushioning member utilizing an elastic recovering force in a bending direction and a thickness direction thereof.

  • Publication number: 20110057498
Abstract: To achieve further weight reduction and thinning of a seat structure. A configuration in which a side frame cover 212 composed of a laminated body 1 provided with a planar member made of cloth and planar members made of synthetic resin laminated on both sides of the planar member made of cloth via adhesive agent and formed in a predetermined shape is joined to a side frame base body 211 composed of a metal member is obtained. Therefore, the thickness of the metal member used can be reduced by an amount corresponding to a strength the laminated body compensates for, which results in achievement of further weight reduction from a conventional structural member composed of only metal members that are used at the same site. Further, when an impact force is applied, the impact force can be consumed as a force that causes delamination of the laminated body from the metal member at a portion where they are joined via the adhesive agent.

  • Patent number: 7819477
Abstract: Reduces backlash and clearance in a thrust direction of a worm when engaging a seat back to more securely prevent the generation of abnormal noise that before. A movable bearing 12 is pressed by cams 21, 22 that are pressing members, when the seat back is stopped at a predetermined angle, to approach a worm wheel 5. A ball 14 disposed in a recess 12a of the movable bearing 12 moves slightly along an inner surface of the recess 12a so a worm 4 is pressed to the worm wheel 5 side and pressed to the fixed bearing 11 side, and a latch member 23 that is a engaging member engages the worm 4 to inhibit rotation of the worm wheel 5 thereby securely holding that state. Since the movable bearing 12 moves to the worm wheel 5 side, the substantial movement range of the ball is wider compared to a structure that supports a ball only at a fixed bearing, and the range of displacement of the worm 4 by being pressed by the ball is substantially larger.

  • Publication number: 20100102608
Abstract: A seat structure applicable to both a normal posture and a comfortable posture, in which a sufficiently relaxed resting posture is available and an excellent comfort is obtained while seated. A cushion frame is supported by a rear link plate and a front link plate, set such that the rear link plate within its movable range has a displacement angle larger than a displacement angle of the front link plate, and an angle between a side frame portion of a base frame and the rear link plate becomes smaller than an angle between the side frame portion and the front link plate when the plates are rotated and moved to the forward-most positions. Consequently, a seating surface angle of the cushion frame increases as the rear link plate and the front link plate are rotated and moved forward. An inclination angle of a back frame itself does not vary but the seating surface angle of the cushion frame can be varied according to a movement of a person.
