  • Patent number: 6926358
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to suppress rebound of a human body when receiving a large impact load accompanying a collision or the like. A back frame member 20 and a seat frame member 10 are individually formed by welding or caulking, and a link member 30 for connecting both is attached to the back frame member 20 and the seat frame member 10 by welding or caulking. Each of the frame members is provided with a cushioning member as a tension structure. Upon receipt of an impact vibration or an impact force at a predetermined magnitude or more, the tension of the cushioning member provided as the tension structure lowers to be able to exhibit high damping characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6860561
Abstract: A folding seat comprising a seat cushion having a cushioning member supported by a seat frame and a seat back having a cushioning member supported by a back frame which is pivoted forward with respect to the seat frame so that a seat comprised of the seat cushion and the seat back can be folded. The distance between each of the side frames composing the seat frame is arranged to be wider than the distance between each of the side frames composing the back frame. A front end frame of the seat frame is positioned outside an upper end frame of the back frame when the seat frame and the back frame come close together upon folding the seat. Accordingly the thickness of the whole seat can be substantially the same as the seat cushion or the seat back alone, when the seat is folded. Thus, luggage space for baggage in a vehicle can be increased when the seat is folded.

  • Patent number: 6854805
Abstract: A seat structure includes a torsion bar 12 disposed along the width direction, and an arm 13 which is connected to the torsion bar 12, enforced in the direction of falling backward at a normal state by the torsion bar 12 in the rear of a seat cushion 10, and disposed is a flat-type supporting member 15 between the supporting frame 14 supported by the arm 13 and a frame member provided in front of the seat cushion, being strained by the elastic force of the torsion bar 12. Through this structure, the spring characteristic to give an influence on comfortability and riding comfort at the time of being seated can be given by the torsion bar 12, so that the number of coil springs which have been necessary in the vicinity of the body side can be reduced or the use of the coil spring can be stopped.

  • Patent number: 6848256
Abstract: A booster of the present invention is structured to include one permanent magnet (first permanent magnet) 40 provided in an input rod 20, and the other permanent magnet (second permanent magnet) 51 forming a repulsive magnetic field between the second permanent magnet 51 and the first permanent magnet 40, and to apply a force amplified by a force received by the second permanent magnet 51 to an output rod 60 through a channel different from an output applying channel by an output applying member 30 to booster the inputted force. The booster can boost a force by applying a force to operate an inputting member without requiring such a negative pressure source or a hydraulic pressure source operated by a separate driving force different from a driving force to drive the inputting member as the conventional booster requires.

  • Publication number: 20040256905
Abstract: The structure is formed by serially connecting a torsion bar and a coil spring via a arm and a supporting frame to thereby elastically support a flat-type supporting member, and by disposing a cushioning member for seat cushion provided with a spring characteristic closely analogous to a load-to-deflection characteristic (spring characteristic) of the muscle of a human body above the flat-type supporting member. Accordingly, it is possible to make a spring characteristic for working when supporting a load of a human different from a spring characteristic for working when removing vibration even with an extremely simple structure. In other words, the structure has an excellent function to make the spring constant at work when removing vibration, especially when removing a high frequency component.

  • Publication number: 20040245036
Abstract: There is provided a bio-signal detector to detect a heart rate and a respiratory rate so that the determination of a kind of a seat load placed on a seat can be made. That is, whether the seat load is a human or an object is determined, and if it is the human, then the physique size is determined to be small or large (the level of the physique size is determined). Accordingly, as compared with the means based only on a weight of the seat load, the determination result is highly reliable. Besides, with the use of the bio-signal detector, the discrimination between the human and the object is ensured. Moreover, a structure additionally including a weight sensor allows the determination of the physique size in more accurate manner.

  • Publication number: 20040012134
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to make a damping force variable in a damping device that uses a magnetic fluid. In a damping device using a magnetic fluid as an operating oil, the present invention includes a groove portion 34a as a leakage magnetic field generating portion that is provided in one appropriate place or more of a pair of flow path forming members forming a fluid flow path 22b and that generates a strong leakage magnetic field to the fluid flow path 22b. Accordingly, the use of only a permanent magnet enables the behavior of magnetic particles in the magnetic fluid to be changed according to a relative position of a casing 20 and a movable portion 30 and enables a damping force to be variable, without using an electromagnet.

  • Patent number: 6676218
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to minimize the dependency of the vibration characteristic exhibited by the sheet-shaped supporting member supported by the metal springs on the added load. In a plurality of metal springs 41 to 44 supporting a sheet-shaped supporting member 30, a third metal spring 43 provided on the position to support the vicinity of the greater trochanter of the seated person is provided in a manner that an engagement portion with a frame member is positioned lower than the engagement portion with the sheet-shaped supporting member 30 when no load is applied. Accordingly, the feeling of something foreign created by such a third metal spring 43 can be reduced, and within a predetermined range of the added load, the third metal spring does not work functionally because respective engagement portions 43a and 43b take their positional relationship to be substantially horizontal in a static seating state, while it works functionally when the added load exceeds the above-described range.

  • Patent number: 6670018
Abstract: A net fabric to be processed into a net product capable of simplifying processing during manufacturing of a net product, leading to a reduction in manufacturing cost of the net product is disclosed. The net fabric is so constructed that the side edge portions of the net fabric, which are subjected to processing such as cutting, vibrational welding or the like, have a higher compressibility in the thickness direction than the middle portions of the net fabric. This ensures that the net fabric exhibits a better workability during the manufacturing of the net product using the net fabric in order to simplify the manufacturing process, and to lead to a reduction in manufacturing cost, even though the net fabric has a three-dimensional structure.

  • Publication number: 20030234476
Abstract: A magnetic spring device and a vibration damping apparatus, which are simpler and cheaper to manufacture, are disclosed. The magnetic spring device includes a plurality of stationary magnets, which are spaced apart to define a space between them, and a magnetic movable element, which is fit in the space. The magnetic poles of the stationary magnets are opposite to each other. The movable element is moved by the magnetic force generated by the stationary magnets in a parallel direction with the magnetic field. The properly positioned stationary magnets and movable element form a magnetic spring device, which together with additional properly positioned magnets alone may be used as a vibration damping apparatus. Also, when the magnetic spring device is combined with a cushioning member such as a metal spring, rubber or the like to form a vibration damping apparatus, the total elastic constant of the vibration damping apparatus may be near zero.
