Abstract: A system for simulation of target electronic systems combining interacting elements of hardware and executing software, in part by physical emulation means and in part by abstract software simulation. A processor emulator is coupled to a hardware simulator by a communications link. The processor emulator provides the functionality of the target microprocessor while the hardware simulator simulates additional target circuitry. The processor emulator is coupled to a memory containing the target program. Most computer instructions in the target program do not require interaction with the target circuitry simulated on the hardware simulator. However, when a computer instructions requires the interaction of the target microprocessor and the target circuitry, a communications link control the communication between the target microprocessor and the target circuitry. The various components of the system can be coupled together via a conventional computer network.
Abstract: A graphic data processing apparatus comprising a CPU coupled to an entry device, storage storing graphic data and a plurality of programs and a display, and adapted such that a command mode for drawing a desired graphic form is selected by designating the corresponding desired graphic form in the already displayed graphic forms and a program for drawing the graphic form is automatically selected.

Abstract: A pneumatically operated flex-pack case packer for servicing a form-fill-seal machine. The flex-pack case packer employs a two-stage displacement cylinder to move an interchangeable head assembly having grippers that, when moved into position to receive severed flexible pouches from the form-fill-seal machine, grasp the flexible pouches. The head assembly is then retracted and swung from its horizontal position to a vertical position. Once an open top container is indexed into position, the head assembly is lowered toward the container and the grippers open to release the flexible pouches. Also, the lateral distances between the flexible pouches as they are held by their respective grippers can be expanded or contracted by using an air cylinder to actuate a rocker arm. A programmable controller coordinates all air control valve and solenoid activity.
Abstract: The addition of an external commutating inductor and two clamp diodes to the phase-shifted PWM full-bridge dc/dc converter substantially reduces the switching losses of the transistors and the rectifier diodes, under all loading conditions. We give analyses, practical design considerations, and experimental results for a 1.5-kW converter with 60-V, 25-A output, operating at 100-kHz clock frequency and 95% efficiency.
