Abstract: Embodiments of a method for examining shipments are disclosed herein. In the method, at least one shipment is arranged in an examination area. Radiation is emitted into the examination area for examining the at least one shipment by means of a radiation source. Radiation from the examination area is captured by means of a sensor device. The radiation source emits terahertz radiation, and the radiation source covers substantially the entire terahertz frequency spectrum from 1 terahertz to 6 terahertz.

Abstract: A transport trolley for consignments having wheels which define a contact plane for moving the trolley, having a load compartment for receiving consignments during transport, and having a shelf for carrying consignments. The shelf can be adjusted from a lower non-use position arranged in the load compartment into an upper, moderate use position arranged outside the load compartment, and back. The shelf can be adjusted from a lower non-use position arranged in the load compartment into an upper, elevated use position arranged outside the load compartment, and back. The moderate use position and the elevated use position are arranged in a range between 1.0 m and 1.7 m above the contact plane. The elevated use position is arranged above the moderate use position, and a drive is provided for at least partially adjusting the height of the shelf above the contact plane.

Abstract: In a method, historic delivery information is kept, which is associated with multiple deliveries of shipments, and the historic delivery information for each of the deliveries of shipments associated with the delivery information represents details pertaining to a delivery route, pertaining to an energy requirement, and pertaining to a vehicle configuration. In the method, shipment delivery information is obtained for multiple shipments to be delivered. The shipment delivery information represents a detail pertaining to the delivery position for the delivery of the respective shipment. A delivery route for delivering the shipments and a vehicle configuration is determined based on the shipment delivery information and the historical delivery information. In particular, the expected energy requirement for the delivery of the shipments is determined.

Abstract: A method to sort objects in a sorting installation. The objects are conveyed on a sorter of the sorting installation. In a first distribution pass a few of the objects conveyed on the sorter are brought by the sorter into retrieval end stations of the sorting installation and others of the objects conveyed on the sorter are brought by the sorter into a collection end station of the sorting installation and, with a transport facility of the sorting installation, objects are automatically transported away from the collection end station and automatically brought back to the sorter. The objects brought back from the collection end station to the sorter by the transport facility are brought by the sorter into one of the end stations in a second distribution pass.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method in which a key is acquired; access information is generated; and the access information is encrypted with the key. Further, an indicator is associated with the access information and first data is output. The first data includes the access information encrypted with the key and the indicator. Third data is acquired from an apparatus having a key for decrypting the encrypted access information, and the third data includes a code word and an indicator. Access information is determined from the third data, and it is ascertained whether the code word authorizes access. Access is granted to a compartment installation if it was ascertained that the code word authorizes access. Two associated methods, one performed by a mobile apparatus, and another performed by a system are disclosed. Furthermore, corresponding apparatuses, systems, and computer programs are disclosed.

Abstract: A method is disclosed in which sensor information is obtained that is captured by at least one environment sensor of an unmanned vehicle. The sensor information represents at least one object parameter of an object that is moving relative to the unmanned vehicle. At least partly based on the at least one object parameter, it is determined whether a collision between the unmanned vehicle and the object is imminent. If it is determined that a collision between the unmanned vehicle and the object is imminent, at least partly based on the at least one object parameter, at least one triggering parameter is determined for triggering at least one crash cushion of the unmanned vehicle. The at least one crash cushion is triggered according to the at least one triggering parameter. The at least one crash cushion is triggered before the imminent collision.

Abstract: Described and presented is a delivery vehicle having a consignment store for receiving, storing and reissuing consignments, having a handover device for handing over consignments from the consignment store to a displacing device, and having a control device for controlling at least the displacing device. The displacing device is designed for delivering consignments to a location outside the delivery vehicle by displacing the consignments and so as to be adjustable from a retracted position into a deployed position and back, and the displacing device is designed to be height-adjustable for delivering consignments at different height levels outside the delivery vehicle.

Abstract: A method of recognizing consecutive objects on a conveying path in a detection zone arranged on the conveying path comprises the following steps: generating an electromagnetic radio frequency field radiating into the detection zone by way of a radio frequency sensor; measuring a time curve of a dielectric conductivity in the detection zone by using of the radio frequency field of the radio frequency sensor; and determining contour information of the consecutive objects from the time curve of the dielectric conductivity.

Abstract: A piece goods cabinet including a plurality of piece goods modules is disclosed. Each piece goods module has a plurality of piece goods compartments. Each piece goods compartment is assigned a closure unit which is displaceable from a closed position into an open position. At least individual piece goods modules within the piece goods cabinet are arranged such that they can be displaced between at least two module positions, at least substantially in the vertical direction and/or at least substantially in at least one horizontal direction. In order that the displacement of piece goods modules of appropriate piece goods cabinets can be simplified further, provision is made for the at least individual displaceable piece goods modules to be connected to mover units of the piece goods cabinet, which are designed to displace the piece goods modules in the piece goods cabinet.

Abstract: A method for unloading packages from a container, in particular a roller container. The method requires relatively little space, and the method involves a container guide and a conveyor belt, in which the containers are moved successively along a container path by the container guide. At least in some section or sections, the conveyor belt extends to the side of and at least substantially parallel to the container path. The containers are tipped sideways in the direction of the conveyor belt during the movement along the container guide and along the conveyor belt predetermined by the container path. The packages slide out of the tipped containers onto the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt conveys the packages that have slid out of the container onwards, and the emptied tipped containers are righted again during the movement along the container guide predetermined by the container path.

Abstract: Presented are embodiments of a modular transport robot for transporting consignments. The transport robot includes at least one base element for the structure of the transport robot, at least two expansion modules for the technical equipping of the transport robot, at least one consignment box for receiving consignments, and at least one control device. The base element and each of the expansion modules have corresponding connecting elements and are electrically connected to one another by an electrical connection. The base element has at least one wiring harness for electrically connecting the connecting elements of the base element to one another, and the base element and the expansion modules are designed correspondingly to one another such that the connecting elements of the expansion modules are selectively connectable directly to at least two connecting elements provided at different points, so as to form one common connection to the base element.

Abstract: A sorting installation sorts objects and contains a sorter for conveying objects and also an end station facility accepting objects. The sorter is configured to bring at least a few of the objects conveyed on the sorter in an object introduction direction, which is different from a local direction of object conveyance of the sorter in an area of the sorter adjoining the end station facility, into the end station facility. In order to make possible a fine distribution of the objects that is favorable in terms of the effort involved, the end station facility has a first object store, a second object store and also a transport facility. Abstract: A method for loading a container with packages, using a device having at least one guide. At least one hand element is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the guide, and is provided on the at least one guide. The hand element has a plurality of finger elements. The finger elements have at least two flexible flank elements extending together from one end of the finger element to the opposing end. The at least two flexible flank elements of the finger elements are flexibly connected together via a plurality of webs. The finger elements may be adjusted from at least one curved position into at least one extended position and back. The at least one hand element takes packages one after the other, and deposits the packages into the container in a stack. The hand element is displaced along the guide between the deposit of two successive packages.
