Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cable-based force feedback control apparatus capable of automatically determining the unspecified number and positions of cable haptic apparatus and performing force feedback control based on the determination result and a control method for the apparatus. A force feedback control apparatus and a control method for the apparatus according to the present disclosure may freely change the number and positions of haptic modules, may be installed according to various screen sizes, and may automatically detect the number and positions of the haptic devices, thereby achieving scalability.

Abstract: Provided is an isolated population of human pluripotent stem cells comprising at least 50% human pluripotent stem cells characterized by an OCT4+/TRA1-60?/TRA1-81?/SSEA1+/SSEA4? expression signature, and novel methods of generating and maintaining same in a pluripotent, undifferentiated state a suspension culture devoid of cell clumps. Also provided are novel culture media, cell cultures and methods for culturing pluripotent stem cells in a suspension culture or a two-dimensional culture system while maintaining the cells in a proliferative, pluripotent and undifferentiated state. The novel culture media comprise interleukin 11 (IL11) and Ciliay Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF); bFGF at a concentration of at least 50 ng/ml and an IL6RIL6 chimera; or an animal contaminant-free serum replacement and an IL6RIL6 chimera. Also provided are methods for generating lineage-specific cells from the pluripotent stem cells.

Abstract: There is provided an analog-stochastic converter for converting an analog voltage signal into a pulse signal having a corresponding probability. The analog-stochastic converter is implemented using a threshold switching element and a simple logic circuit, thereby reducing a size of the analog-stochastic converter and enabling a low power operation thereof. In addition, in order to update a weight, instead of an analog signal, a probability signal is applied using the above-described analog-stochastic converter, thereby updating a weight in a fully-parallel manner in a synaptic element array having an intersection structure. Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for detecting a presence of a mismatched pair in an oligonucleotide duplex that is attached to a solid substrate using an atomic force microscope. In particular, methods and apparatuses of the invention allow qualitative and quantitative analysis of the presence of a mismatched pair in a sample of oligonucleotide duplex using an atomic force microscope comprising an AFM cantilever that includes a DNA mismatch repair protein. Methods and apparatuses of the invention allow detection of gene mutation without a need for amplification, labeling, or modification of the sample. Such apparatuses and methods can be used in a wide variety of clinical diagnostic applications including detection and/or analysis of biomarkers related to, but not limited to, cancer, trauma, sepsis, aseptic inflammation, myocardial infarction, stroke, transplantation, diabetes, sickle cell disease, as well as other clinical conditions.
