  • Patent number: 5081451
Abstract: A display system for a vehicle is provided with a fluorescent display tube. An anode control circuit outputs a control signal for selecting one or more of anode electrodes of the display tube to output a first control signal in response to which the selected anode electrodes are supplied with a positive voltage to cause the flourescent display tube to make a display. A display condition judging circuit judges whether or not the anode control circuit is outputting the first control signal. A brightness judging circuit judges whether the surroundings of the fluorescent display tube are bright or dark. A filament control circuit outputs a second control signal for energizing a filament of the display tube when said display condition judging circuit judges that the anode control circuit is outputting the first control signal and/or when the brightness judging circuit judges that the surroundings of the display tube are bright.

  • Patent number: 5073093
Abstract: Here is disclosed a scroll-type fluid handling machine having a hermetically sealed casing enclosing therein a stationary side scroll member fixed to the casing, a movable side scroll member adapted to be rotatable in engagement with the stationary side scroll member and an electromotor used to drive the movable side scroll member, wherein said electromotor comprises a linear motor consisting of movable side magnets and stationary side coils mutually facing in the axial direction of the machine itself and is adapted to directly drive the movable side scroll member. Such feature makes the drive shaft as well as the crankshaft which have conventionally been essential to the machine unnecessary, thereby minimizing a mechanical loss and improving a mechanical efficiency. In addition, the axial dimension of the machine can be substantially reduced so as to obtain a compact, light weight machine.

  • Patent number: 5070594
Abstract: An acceleration sensor includes a tubular casing having one open and closed by a lid of an elastic material. A magnetic member is received within a sealed space defined by the casing and the lid, and a damper liquid fills in the sealed space. The lid is fixedly connected at its outer peripheral portion to one end portion of the casing including the open end thereof. The lid is deformable away from the other end of the casing so as to absorb a thermal expansion of the damper liquid. The lid has an annular deformable diaphragm portion extending between a central tubular portion of the lid and the outer peripheral portion of the lid. For attaching the lid to the casing, the outer peripheral portion of the lid is pressed into the one end portion of the casing so as to bring the diaphragm portion into contact with the damper liquid, so that part of the damper liquid flows into the tubular portion. Subsequently, an axial bore of the tubular portion is closed by a closure member.

  • Patent number: 5060158
Abstract: A clutch control apparatus for controlling the operation of a friction type clutch comprises a data generator responsive to an engaging command signal for generating an electric signal corresponding to the time-course in a target clutch stroke pattern for engaging the clutch. The actual clutch stroke of the clutch is adjusted by the use of a clutch actuator coupled with the clutch in response to the electric signal in such a way that the actual clutch stroke is made to coincide with the target clutch stroke at each instant, whereby the actual clutch stroke varies in accordance with the desired time-course pattern for engaging the clutch after the application of the engaging command signal. The initial target clutch stroke of the desired pattern may be corrected in accordance with the amount of operation of an acceleration member to reduce the dead time in the torque transmission through the clutch.

  • Patent number: 5050714
Abstract: In a control system for controlling a clutch coupled with an internal combustion engine for driving a vehicle off, the control operation for clutch engagement is carried out based on the level of power insufficiency of the engine. When the level of engine insufficiency is within a predetermined range, the operation for clutch engagement is controlled in accordance with the change in the amount of operation of an accelerating member without stopping the engaging operation of the clutch. In order to improve the performance experienced by the operator at drive-off, just after recovery from power insufficiency, the target clutch stroke to be followed is corrected by correction data determined on the basis of the difference between the target and actual clutch stroke at the time the engine has just recovered from its power insufficiency.

  • Patent number: 5051682
Abstract: A peak hold circuit and a sample-and-hold circuit are provided for accurately and immediately detecting variations in a load connected to a generator. The peak hold circuit holds a peak voltage of a waveform voltage signal having an amplitude corresponding to the magnitude of the load. The peak hold circuit is responsive to a reset signal from a reset circuit to be reset during a time interval between a point after the peak of the waveform voltage signal and a point before a subsequent peak of the waveform voltage signal, so that the peak hold circuit is reset, thereby renewing the peak voltage held in the peak hold circuit. When the sample-and-hold circuit receives a sampling instruction signal from a sampling instruction circuit during a time interval between a point after the peak of said waveform voltage signal and a point before said reset signal is outputted, the sample-and-hold circuit operates in a sampling mode to sample the peak voltages outputted from the peak hold circuit.
