  • Patent number: 4878358
Abstract: A demisting control system of an air conditioner for automotive vehicles, which comprises an evaporator, and a variable capacity compressor capable of being controlled in capacity from the outside. An actual cooling degree of the evaporator is detected. At least two desired cooling degrees of the evaporator are set. The detected actual cooling degree and each of the set at least two desired cooling degrees are compared with each other. On the basis of the comparison results, a value of the capacity to which the compressor is to be controlled is determined. The at least two desired cooling degrees are selected one by one in predetermined sequence and each selected desired cooling degree is compared with the actual cooling degree as above for a predetermined time period exclusively provided therefor. The compressor is driven so that its capacity is brought to the value of capacity determined as above.

  • Patent number: 4870939
Abstract: In a fuel injection system having a distribution-type fuel injection pump, fuel is supplied successively to cylinders of an engine from a pressurizing chamber of the pump. The pressurizing chamber communicates with a low-pressure chamber through a relief passageway opened and closed by an electromagnetic valve. During a stroke in which volume of the pressurizing chamber is reduced by each forward stroke of a plunger, opening and closing of the valve are controlled, to control starting timing and/or termination timing of fuel injection to the cylinders. A delay occurs in the starting timing and/or the termination timing with respect to drive pulses supplied to the valve, due to an operation delay of the valve. A plurality of memory sections are provided for storing therein delay times for the respective cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4866381
Abstract: A rotation angle detector has magnets of different polarities arranged with one polarity alternately with the other polarity on the circumferential surface of a rotary body, wherein a plurality of magnets on the portions of the circumferential surface having a width which is different from that of a plurality of magnets on the remaining portions. A single rotation angle sensor arranged to oppose the circumferential surface of the rotary body scans the magnets when the rotary body is rotated, thereby outputting a reference signal and a rotation angle signal. Mutually adjacent magnets which differ in width are so formed that whichever is scanned earlier by the rotation angle sensor will have a width narrowed by a predetermined amount if it is wider than the other or a width widened by the predetermined amount if it is narrower than the other. Irrespective of the altered width, the sum of the magnetized areas of these mutually adjacent magnets is held constant.

  • Patent number: 4864993
Abstract: A boost compensator has a valve operative in response to a boost pressure. When the boost pressure is equal to or lower than a setting pressure, the valve intercepts communication between first and second chambers of the boost compensator which are partitioned by a diaphragm. When the boost pressure exceeds the setting pressure, the valve brings the first and second chambers into communication with each other. By the communication, pressure within the second chamber is raised so that the diaphragm and a push rod operatively connected to the diaphragm are moved toward the first chamber. As a result, a control member of a fuel injection pump is caused to be moved in a fuel decreasing direction.

  • Patent number: 4865524
Abstract: A variable capacity compressor for an air conditioning system. A passage extends between a suction chamber and a high-pressure chamber, in which is arranged a control valve device having a pressure-responsive portion displaceable in response to change in pressure within the passage. A capacity control device controls the delivery quantity of the compressor in response to opening and closing of the passage by the control valve device. The control valve device opens and closes the passage in response to change in pressure within the suction chamber representative of a thermal load on the air conditioning system to thereby cause the capacity control device to vary the delivery quantity of the compressor. An auxiliary low-pressure chamber is provided in the passage, within which the pressure-responsive portion is disposed. A restriction hole communicates the suction chamber with the auxiliary low-pressure chamber for introducing pressure within the suction chamber into the auxiliary low-pressure chamber.
