  • Publication number: 20020178521
Abstract: The invention relates to a surface treating machine, comprising: a frame (1) and a chassis (2, 3) to enable the machine to move over a surface (S) such as a floor. A head (5) is supported by the frame and comprises means (6) for directly contacting, scrubbing or maintaining said surface. The head (5) is freely movable up and down with respect to the chassis (2, 3) and is loaded downwardly by a pressure to adapt to the level of the surface. At least a part of the pressure on the head (5) is derived from the weight of the machine itself. Preferably, the head (5) is connected to a first lever arm (8) of a two armed lever (7) A second arm (9) of the lever (7) is connected to the chassis (2, 3), whereas a pivoting point (10) of the lever (7) is fixed to the frame (1) of the machine. In this way, the pressure on the head is not only provided by the weight of the machine, but the head is also easily adapting to ramps and descents in the surfaces, while the pressure on the head is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20020166593
Abstract: An eductor (1) for mixing liquids, e.g. a concentrated solution into water, has a flow passage (16) for a first liquid into which a dispensing passage (18) for a second liquid opens so that in use the second liquid is drawn into the flow of the first liquid. The dispensing passage (18) including a flow restrictor portion provided by a groove (22) extending on the periphery of a restrictor plug (19) removably received in a socket (21) of the eductor body. The groove (22) and the wall of the socket (21) define the flow rate in the dispensing passage. The plug (19) has a plurality of the grooves (22) and is selectively insertable into the socket in a plurality of positions, the grooves providing respectively different flow rates of the second liquid.

  • Publication number: 20020124907
Abstract: The dispensing apparatus dispenses material into a container (34) having at least one predetermined shape component (40a) which cooperates with the dispensing apparatus to control a dispensing operation. There is a vertically movable support (8) for the container having a first, lower position at which the container is brought into a mounted position on the support and a second, higher position, and actuating means (24a,30) arranged for mechanical engagement with the container during lifting of the container on the support. The actuating means cooperates with the predetermined shape component or components of the container to determine, in dependence on the shape of the shape component the liquid or liquids to be dispensed into the container, and/or the quantity of a liquid to be dispensed into the container. The actuating means (24a,30) lifts cylinders (22,24) to dispense the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20020030122
Abstract: A water spray has a nozzle (6) for carrying a pressurised flow of water to an outlet (7) thereof, and a conduit (12) surrounding the nozzle outlet (7) for carrying a flow of gas contiguously around the flow of cleaning liquid exiting said nozzle outlet (7). The ratio of velocities of gas and water immediately downstream of the nozzle is in the range 0.5 to 2. This enables good control of water droplet size in the spray, to a volume median diameter in the range 0.5 to 2 mm at 1 m from the nozzle.
