Abstract: The invention discloses process for making bars comprising fatty acid soaps, free fatty acid, polyalkylene glycol and specific salts of protic acid (i.e., having pKa1 less than 6, preferably less than 5.5). Using specific equivalent molar ratios of fatty acid to protic acid salt and specific wt. ratio of PAG and salt of protic acid to free fatty acid, applicants obtain bars having sensory feel of soap and which improve skin condition in Controlled Application Wash Tests.

Abstract: A wiping article is provided which includes an effervescent cleanser composition held within a pouch formed from a first and second substrate sheet. At least one of the substrate sheets must be water permeable. The effervescent composition is an intimate mixture of an acid material such as citric acid and an alkaline material such as sodium bicarbonate. Water contact causes the combination to effervesce. A dry surfactant such as sodium cocoyl isethionate in contact with the water and effervescing carbon dioxide results in a highly pleasant sudsing system. Skin benefit agents may be included within the composition. The effervescent action may improve deposition of the skin benefit agents onto the skin.

Abstract: A towelette product is provided which includes a stack of flexible towelettes, a refill package for storing the towelettes and a cover housing surrounding the refill package. The refill package has deck and floor walls in parallel relationship to one another. An aperture in the deck allows access and egress of individual towelettes and is circumscribed by a rigid mouth with a coupling structure. The cover housing is formed with a roof on an upper surface and an open mouth along a lower edge. A dispensing port of the roof is defined by a rigid engagement wall directed downward toward the open mouth and engageable with the coupling structure of the rigid mouth in a sealable relationship to prevent moisture from transferring therebetween. Only a single seal is necessary to both join together refill and cover housing and serve as a towelette dispensing orifice.

Abstract: An oral product and method is provided for remineralizing teeth. The product includes a first composition containing a water soluble calcium phosphate salt or monolithic combination of calcium and phosphate salts in a carrier with the first composition having a pH less than 7, and a second composition containing an alkaline material and a fluoride ion source in a carrier to achieve a pH greater than 7.5. The first and second compositions are separated from one another prior to use. When combined upon application to teeth, the first and second compositions generate hydroxyapatite depositing same on dental enamel.

Abstract: Water is conserved and poultry raised for human consumption is cleaned by a viscera-removing machine that incorporates a unique nozzle member positioned adjacent a crop-removing tool. The close positioning of the nozzle to the crop-removing tool insures that contaminates are washed out of the internal cavity of the bird immediately upon crop removal. This prevents contaminates from being absorbed into tissue surrounding the internal cavity. The nozzle is mounted in longitudinal alignment with the crop-removing tool at the lowermost or leading end of a spiral rod that rotates about its axis of symmetry and reciprocates up and down as previously slaughtered poultry is delivered to a crop-removing and washing station. Each downward motion of the spiral rod causes the tool and nozzle to enter the vent of a bird and to exit at the neck opening.

Abstract: A ramp assembly for mounting in a low floor bus or other vehicle. The ramp assembly includes a rectangular enclosure that fits underneath the chassis of the low floor bus. The ramp assembly includes a reciprocating mechanism for moving a ramp platform between a fully deployed position and a fully stowed position. During this movement, the reciprocating mechanism raises the trailing end of the ramp platform in one translational movement with the extension of the ramp platform, such that the trailing end of the ramp platform, when deployed, is raised to the floor level of the low floor bus.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for capping and grounding an electrical connector to prevent leakage of electromagnetic interference into or out of a chassis for a piece of electronic equipment. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a chassis panel has a conductive area that may serve as chassis ground. The electrical connector is secured to the chassis panel, and it is disposed over a penetration in the chassis panel. The electrical connector has a conductive shell that is electrically tied to chassis ground. An EMI plate caps the electrical connector, and it is also electrically tied to chassis ground. The EMI plate permits the transmission of desired signals into and out of the chassis via the electrical connector and associated conductors while substantially preventing leakage of electromagnetic interference through the electrical connector.
