Abstract: A drive system includes at least two drive devices, at least one of which is electric, that drive at least two drive axles, a power electronics system, an energy storage arrangement, and a control device. The control device includes a drive control module for providing a recuperation limiting value for each electric drive, a recuperation control module for combining the recuperation limiting values to form a maximum recuperation total limiting value, and a brake control module for providing a total braking torque requested by a driver or assistance system, such that it derives a recuperation total torque that is less than the recuperation total limiting value and also derives recuperation partial torques for each electric drive. In the case of a total braking torque that is greater than the recuperation total limiting value, the brake control module generates a hydraulic brake pressure and transmits it to the brake system.

Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror for vehicles, in particular for passenger vehicles, has a mirror foot which can be fixed on a front door below a vehicle belt line. The vehicle has a door formed of an outer panel which is provided with an opening, and an inner reinforcement. An extremely rigid, play-free and simply configured connection of the mirror foot to the inner reinforcement of the door is obtained in that a lower end region of a supporting part of the mirror foot is guided through the opening in the outer panel and is connected within the door directly to the inner reinforcement of the door via a self-centering mounting and a central fastening screw.

Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine with compression ignition or with spark ignition as a function of an operating point. A specific residual exhaust-gas quantity in the combustion space is set for compression ignition. The internal combustion engine is operated as a function of the operating point by an outlet cam, by which a first outlet opening phase and a second outlet opening phase take place. The second outlet opening phase commences during an inlet opening phase. At a first operating point in a compression-ignition mode, a residual exhaust-gas quantity in a combustion space is dimensioned as a function of a valve interference set between the inlet and the outlet valve during a charge exchange. At a second operating point in the compression-ignition mode the residual exhaust-gas quantity in the combustion space is dimensioned as a function of a duration of the second outlet opening phase.

Abstract: For certain medical images, it is important and/or required that a user view all of a medical image at full resolution so that minute, but important, indicia in the medical image are not missed. A computing systems monitor the portions of the medical image that are displayed on the display device, notates those portions that have been displayed at full resolution (or other user-defined display parameters), and provides the user with information indicating portions that have not been viewed at full resolution and/or provides information indicating for which images of a multiple image examination full pixel display has been accomplished. The process reduces the possibility of missing an abnormality in a medical image due to the viewer not viewing a portion of the image at full resolution or using other user-defined display parameters.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has first and second non-deactivatable cylinder banks. Each cylinder bank is assigned exhaust lines which extend from exhaust manifolds. First and second exhaust-gas turbocharger in the exhaust line are assigned to the first and second cylinders, respectively. A first catalytic converter in the first exhaust line contains the first exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the first exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the first cylinder bank. A second catalytic converter in the second exhaust line contains the second exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the second exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the second cylinder bank. A flow transfer line is arranged between the first and the second exhaust line, and a first control element, by an exhaust-gas mass flow passing through the flow transfer line can be regulated.

Abstract: The invention provides in some aspects a loudspeaker comprising an enclosure, a driver that is mounted in the enclosure, and an active diaphragm that is coupled to the driver to generate frontward-directed sound waves (“front waves”) directed outwardly from the enclosure and backward-directed sound waves (“back waves”) directed inwardly into the enclosure. A foam member, disposed within the enclosure and/or on an inner surface of a wall thereof, attenuates components of the back wave as a function of frequency, e.g., in the manner of a low-pass filter. The foam member comprises a foam of rigid material, namely, by way of example, a foam of metal, ceramic, carbon, silicon, glass, and/or epoxy.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase which accommodates cylinders, having at least one exhaust turbocharger and having an oil circuit containing at least one oil pump, in which engine oil is siphoned by at least one oil pump and delivered to the cylinders for lubrication, and in which the or each exhaust turbocharger is coupled to the oil circuit such that siphoned engine oil can be distributed to bearings of the respective turbocharger via an inlet line leading to the respective exhaust turbocharger and can then be expelled from the bearings of the respective exhaust turbocharger in the direction of an oil sump via an outlet line leading away from the respective exhaust turbocharger. The respective outlet line of the respective exhaust turbocharger is assigned a pressure limiting device, with the aid of which a vacuum prevailing at the bearings of the respective exhaust turbocharger can be limited.
