Abstract: A method and an arrangement are provided for reducing warm-up emissions in the exhaust system of a direct-injection internal-combustion engine. The method includes the steps of adjusting a lean air/fuel mixture for the engine-related combustion; implementing a late injection into the exhaust gas during the exhaust cycle of the internal-combustion engine, so that the exhaust gas contains an essentially stoichiometric air/fuel mixture; and igniting the stoichiometric air/fuel mixture contained in the exhaust gas in the proximity of a catalyst device for heating up the catalyst device.

Abstract: A scanning unit for a magnetic position measuring device is described. The scanning unit includes a carrier body having at least one recess and at least one bore hole in communication with the recess. A detector unit, having one or more detector elements and an electrical connecting lead, is arranged in the area of the recess. The electric connecting lead is disposed through the bore hole. A covering element, covering the recess and protecting the elements arranged therein against mechanical damage, is arranged over the recess. A filling material is provided in the remaining free areas of the recess under the covering element.

Abstract: An air guiding device for a motor vehicle includes an air guiding element that is displaceable by means of the deployment device, between operative and inoperative positions. In its inoperative position, it is lowered with respect to a stationary vehicle body shell and, in its operative position it is deployed outward, projecting beyond the vehicle body shell. The deployment device has at least one deployment element with a deployment arm that is displaceably disposed in a guide housing. The air guiding element is arranged on the fastening end of the deployment arm. The deployment element is equipped with a manually operable adjusting device in order to align the air guiding element in its inoperative position relative to the vehicle body shell. To adjust the air guiding element in its inoperative position relative to the vehicle body shell, the deployment element has an internal or external-thread section on its fastening end as an adjusting arrangement.
Abstract: A method for the absolute determination of the position of two objects, which are movable in relation to each other over a defined measuring distance. The method includes scanning a first measuring graduation with a first graduation period so as to generate a first periodic scanning signal and scanning a second measuring graduation with a second graduation period so as to generate a second periodic scanning signal, wherein the second graduation period is finer than the first graduation period. Correcting the first scanning signal with respect to its ideal phase position, in that a phase correction value is applied to the first periodic scanning signal and determining the phase correction value for at least a partial section of the measuring distance, wherein the phase correction value is a mean value from a maximum and a minimum phase position deviation of an actual phase position from a setpoint phase position in the at least one partial section.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a cleaning composition concentrate in particular for the mechanical cleaning of medical and/or surgical instruments and/or apparatuses and to a process for carrying out this cleaning.

Abstract: In an apparatus for measuring the viscosity of plastic materials including a heatable housing structure, enclosing a controllable material pump for generating a certain material flow, a plurality of capillaries, a melt distributor is provided in the supply line of the material from the material pump to the capillaries with which the material can be directed to either of the plurality of capillaries and each capillary is provided with a pressure and a material temperature sensor providing the values needed for determining the viscosity of the material.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of 3-aryl-2-hydroxy propanoic acid derivatives of the formula (1)
useful as an intermediate for the preparation of many pharmaceutically active compounds.
Abstract: A process for controlling an internal combustion engine having a regulated turbocharger and integrated exhaust gas temperature is provided. The maximum cylinder filling capacity (rlmax) is taken from a stored characteristic field, which extends over the rpm (n) range. The values stored in the characteristic field are determined in the application and are standardized to a lambda value which can be preset, preferably to be lambda=1. When operating the internal combustion engine, the value of the maximum filling capacity (rlmax) taken from the characteristic field is corrected to the current fuel mixture composition.

b) 5 to 60% by weight of an emulsion comprising a fungicidal ingredient (b1) and, in combination with (b1), at least one component (b2) or (b3),
in a water diluted form is useful to protected timber against fungal timber pests; (b1) represents the fungicidal compounds fenpropimorph, fenpropidin, tridemorph, aldimorph and spiroxamine, (b2) represents particular azole fungicides, and (b3) represents particular benzoic esters.

Abstract: A suction system has an arrangement for utilizing resonance effects and is suitable for an internal-combustion engine having opposed cylinder banks. The suction system has a resonance container which has boundary walls. On the one hand, the resonance container is connected with the atmosphere and, on the other hand, it is connected with cylinders of the internal-combustion engine, the arrangement being provided in the resonance container as a control device which can vary the resonance cross-section, and the resonance container is connected with a feeding device having separate feeding pipes. For optimizing the torque behavior of the internal-combustion engine, the control device is fixed from the idling to a medium rotational speed range in a first end position and, together with the feeding pipes of the feeding device, forms two guiding channels which supply the cylinders the two cylinder banks with air.
